We know the world through the mind. Sri Ramana used to

say that mind is a wonderful power that arises from

the Self and makes all this visible.

The conscious mind is a manifestation of Kundalini

Shakti. Ultimately, Mind, Kundalini, Shakti, Maya, all

these mean the same thing.

Jnana makes us aware that the rising (Mind, Maya,

Shakti) has a Source which is complete in It Self, the

pure Sat-Chit-Ananda. Because the mind rises from the

Self, if we look at the mind carefully, we can see the

quality of the Self that permeates it, that of

existence, consciousness. If we become content with

that the Self-nature of Ananda also becomes apparent.

It is the vasanas that block our enjoying the Ananda.

But everyone can be aware of existence and

consciousness to some extent.

It is because of the presence of Sat-Chit-Ananda at

the core of our being, our very being itself, the

whole world is starving for love, unconsciously or

consciously. Love, Joy, Ananda, happiness, being the

root nature. In one way or another, we seek this

ananda and attempt to avoid misery and pain. If we

investigate carefully, we see the truth of it.

I remember being at a retreat back in 1980 or so and

talking to this woman in her 60s. She was divorced and

actively looking for a man.

Being a young enthusiastic yogi, I advised her to

forget about finding love and all that nonsense and

focus on meditation and Self-Realization and be free.

I remember the pained look on her face and she said,

"But I really need to have a man in my life."

I was such a fool then.
