Hello,

I have been a member for some time... just soaking up the most valuable

information. These viruses seem to be everywhere nowadays... make me think they

are almost self-replicating. Quite probably it did not even come from your

computer or your sever. Hackers break into server data-bases and pirate off a

block of addresses and the use these addresses as return addresses for emails to

another block of users that they have stolen somewhere else. A block of

addresses may include several thousand addresses... people who have no idea that

there addresses are being used for spreading viruses until someone advises them

that they have sent them a virus...which did not come from them or their

computer. This is a tactic also used by spammers even terrorists for passing

information that they think cannot be traced back to them. One such group

operates out of Brazil and in all probability this is where this came from. The

best response is to report this to your sever, check your computer for the

virus, observe safe computer hygiene. You can usually bet you are not infected

if people in your address book are not getting emails from you with the virus. I

personally believe that 's data base was compromised in this manner or by

an unscrupulous imployee selling addresses to spammers or hackers. One such

individual was apprehended by law enforcement personnel here in the US and is

looking at a long stretch in jail.

Hope this provides some helpful information.

Sincerely,

Bill

Dear Sundar,

Virus emails are maya in action - its all appearance! You can't believe

where they say they come from. If a computer gets infected by a virus it

may well send itself to everyone listed in a person's email address book and

forge its origination address. It may even send its own message advising us

to download attachments - which may well be another, probably more harmful

virus. The best thing is just to delete them straight away and not try to

analyse the underlying source. This could be a case of ignorance is

'bliss'.

best wishes,

Peter
