Hello All,

 

It may be confusing to some that so many respected spiritual teachers seem to

have conflicting philosophical views. The reason for that is really quite

simple, they are not philosophers. Nisargadatta or whoever can say what is

indistinguishable from Idealism if that advances the sadhana of his target

audience. They have to start somewhere and that approach is readily

understood and has all the ingrediants that by a progressive refinement can

be altered to a more subtle understanding. Sankara because he was involved

in polemical clarification has to create the boundries that others might

ignore.

 

In any case the argument from authority is the weakest (rational) argument so

finally what is persuavive is sound coherent reasoning.

Yes Michael - at least for ones owns understanding - Spirituality should

not be illogical even if it is beyond logic.
