Guest guest
Dear All, well, there were many responses to this question to what is Real that is unaffected in all three periods of time. Respected Sunderji writes (Also, the very first mantra of Mandukya Upanishad spells it out: OM ityetadaksharaM idam sarvaM tasyopavyaakhyaanaM bhuutaM bhavad.h bhavishhyaditi sarvamo.nkaara eva | yachchaanyat.h trikaalaatiitaM tadapyo.nkaara eva || 1|| This entire world is comprised of the sound AUM. This sound embraces the past, the present and the future and truly AUM is beyond all time. ) Thank you Sir! Aum - the shabda Brahman ! You said it! There is a verse in ASHTAVAKRA Gita (a scriptural text quite popular with Shri Ramana)which goes like this... Kva-bhootam-kva-bhavishyat-vaa-vertmaanam-upi-kva-vaa–kva-deshah-kva- ch–nityam-suvamahimn-isthatasya-mae/19,3/. Kva = where, bhootam = past, kva = where, bhavishyat = future, vaa = or, vertmaanam = present, upi = even, kva = where, vaa = or, kva = where, deshah = space, kva = where, Ch = and, nityam = eternity, suvamahimn = in my clean glory, isthtsaya = abiding, mae = me . Translation: - Where is the past, where is the future or where is even the present or where is the space, and where is eternity for me that is abiding in my clean glory! /19,3/. Interior mental vision: - The disciple Janaka express his experiment that the thought knowledge of past, the thought knowledge of the future, the thought knowledge of the present, the thought knowledge of space, the thought knowledge of eternity do not exist for the holy person that is abiding in the clean glory of absolute aspect of life in the beyond feeling brain. Janaka indicates his experience that the time is static for the holy person that is abiding in the clean glory of absolute aspect of life in the brain of melody. Time is always static in the present moment. Interior knowledge exists in the present moment. Thought knowledge exists for the past and future moments of life that continue to transform in the present moment of time. It is the unaware brain, which thinks of thoughts. It is the unaware brain, which is capable of harboring ego, affection, hatred and fear in matter world. It is due to the lack of interior knowledge of individual aspect of life. Thought knowledge is the relative aspect of individual life and the space of the universe that is transforming by rounds of the births and rebirths. In the absolute aspect of life, interior knowledge exists in the current moment of time and is eternal and unchanging. But the relative aspect of the past and the future as well as the present of the absolute aspect of life exists only by thoughts of deficiency of interior knowledge and egoism. http://www.heavenlygardens.org/astavakra- gita/chapter19/stage19.3.htm - 7k - Cached ********************************************************************** Well, to me, ASHTAVAKRA GITA IS A SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE. and is concise. logical and succint. AUM ITI!
Guest guest
Hello Adi Shakthi, I thank whoever quoted these passages from the Ashtavakra Gita. At this early morning I had just woke up and was meditating on the Love that irradiates from all Creation and I went to a peculiar frame of bliss which sometimes comes to me. Tears rolled down my face as I read these passages of the Ashtavakra Gita. How blessed I am to be on the way back to my Spirit, and how blessed are all those who are on the true way, the spiritual way. When asked about what should one do to remove fear and gain Jnana, Sri Ramana Maharshi at once responded: "Only a devotional mind is on the right track." By the way to all interested in Sri Ramana Maharshi´s Advaita, there´s a very good book (and also very big, some 300 pages) of talks between Him and visitors and devotees recorded by His devotees. This book is a contemporary classic. It´s called TALKS WITH RAMANA MAHARSHI by INNERDIRECTIONS PUBLISHING. Namaste, Fred
