Guest guest
first, let me thank our beloved Professor-ji for his response on 'mAyA' and also also for posting the relevant message numbers on this thread in advaitin archives. I just had a glimpse and liked the interview that Sridharji conducted with lady mAyA. Quite amusing. Who said professorji is serious? his recent post on the play of words "nartaki' and 'kirtana' proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he too is capable of making light of a serious topic! I liked that a lot, professor-ji. Yes - the Dance of mAyA.She beguiles us, she entices us, she seduces us, she leads us on , she bewitches us, she casts a spell on us , she catches us in her web, and so on and so forth. But she comes in many shapes and sizes and in many forms. She can take on the form of a young beautiful woman. ( as those celestial apsaras in Indra's kingdom). She can take the form of a golden deer 'mareecha' in Ramayana. mAyA can take on the form of a chess board also like In Mahabharata where Yuddhistra and the pancha Pandavas staked everything , their kingdom and their beloved wife , Draupaadi. so, as sunderji beautifully pointed out, mAyA appears in many forms - although , her feminine form is the most well known. Bhaskar-ji has raised a very important question. I am confident chitta-ji will answer those questions on 1) vidya mAyA 2) avidya mAyA 3) avarana shakti 4) Vikshepa shakti etc in his subsequent postings. But, Sri Ramakrishna's guru TOTAPURI is the most 'advaitin ' anyone can get... but even he recognized that Brahman is Shakti and Shakti is Brahman during his 11 month stay at Dakshineshwar . a BRAHMA JNANI knows how to transcend duality- not us ! love and regards
