Guest guest
Namaste All, This undeniable fascination for the interminable discussion of illusion can only be there because it is not understood what the nature of analogy is. Superimposition is *like* confusion in a single focussed regard. Once you get that you move on briskly having in your possesion the intellectual instrument whereby you can answer the question - How do I know. My impression is that 'maya' is not much used in the B.S.B. perhaps 5 times or so. Avidya or ajnana is used of course. This is my impression from the translation (Gambhirananda Swami) but I could be completely wrong. I was impressed by the information that ananda is not used in the B.G. and samadhi hardly at all in the major upanisads. Is there a search engine for this? or are they foxed by case endings, in Gaelic they couldn't work. If possible it would be intrigueing if such were the case, I mean not much talk of maya. Best Wishes, Michael.

Namaste Michael-ji, Search in a .txt file (Itranslated) of Gita via (Menu)Edit --> Find for any word, not necessarily the whole word (because 'sandhi' may alter the beginning or end syllables), is useful. Col. Jacob's Concordance of 1896(!), re-issued in 1963/'71/'83, is handy (includes only 60 of the 108 traditional count). Sadhale's Concordance, 1938/'90, also is helpful. For the Vedas, Bloomfield's Concordance (1906), now on-line too, is outstanding. For Rig Veda, http://flaez.ch/ , is unsurpassed (courtesy Ken Knight).
