Namaste.

The scene is the Ocean of Milk. The date is, by earthly

reckoning, Friday the 16th of July, 2004, Time of Day:

(Greenwich time) 5 A.M.

The divine couple, Mahavishnu and Lakshmi are seated on the

Snake-couch in the midst of the Ocean. The Snake is a real

Snake, no rope! Usually the Lord hears calls of distress

from the world beneath and He tries to rush for help. But

very often He stops rushing, because He sees that the party

who raised the S.O.S. has taken the law unto himself to

dispense justice. Today there has been no such calls up

till now and so the divine couple is in a relaxed mood. And

Vishnu, with his usual funny mischievous smile, starts the

conversation.

Vishnu: Lakshmi, I have been wanting to tell you of this,

but all these days I have had no time.

Lakshmi: What, my Lord, is so interesting that You have to

tell me about?

V: Look, people down below have advanced their knowledge so

much in technology that they don’t have satsangh any more

in the old fasion.

L: What! You mean they don’t do bhajans or prayers

collectively?

V: They do all that, of course. But they don’t have time.

Because they spend all their time chasing You, Lakshmi! So

they do electronic satsangh.

L: You mean instantaneous satsangh?

V: Yes, they are trying to imitate us of the divine world.

We think of something and we make it happen. They think of

something, and immediately they make other people share the

same, without any loss of time. For them, time, more than

You and Me, is of the greatest essence.

L: You said just now they are chasing Me all the time!

V. Their way of chasing You is by saving time, even in

communication.

L: Well, not a bad idea, that!

V: As a result, what happens is, in the name of satsangh,

anybody can write anything, and immediately it is e-mailed

to the entire world. Whoever sees it, sees! ‘yaH pashyati,

sa pashyati’!

L: So what is the latest, in this game? I see it is only a

game they are all playing. They must be having fun!

V: Yes, that was what I was going to tell you about. Just

look at this group of seekers, who are known as “advaitin

group”. You know what occupies them most now? Right now

they are discussing about what is real and what is unreal.

L. That is not new. The shruti has talked about it through

and through.

V: That is the point. They are interpreting the shruti.

L: Come on, Lord, what are you driving at?

V: My dear, I am not driving at anything. I was laughing

within myself at the irony of the situation. These specks

in human form come and go at the snap of a divine finger,

but they are trying to arbitrate on whether You and I are

real. One person says only brahman is real, Ishvara is not

real. Another says, Ishvara is real but the world is not.

Another says, the world is real, but their perception of it

is not. And it goes on, like this. All of them are studying

Shankara siddhanta. And all of them are sincere.

L: So they are all in a great illusion! Is that what You

mean?

V: No, they know more about illusions than You would like

to credit them with. But my laugh is that the illusion of

Your daughter-in-law, Saraswati, is having a great hold on

them. But, they don’t know ....

L: My Lord, please wait. I hear cries of distress from our

dear city of Kumbakonam.

V: Oh, dear, let Me rush! I have to rush; this fellow Agni

is playing havoc; nobody seems to be in control. Children

are calling Me, but too late! ....

PraNAms to The Divine Couple.
