Guest guest
Namaskhar Chittaranjan-ji! First, let me thank you from the Bottom of my heart in the wonderful and organized way in which you prsented this topic... This topic -'real and unreal' is indeed Multi-dimensional - there are many ways to approach it- from a philosophical point of view , from a scientfic angle and lastly the spiritual dimension... And i must confess, you tried your best to do justice to all the three aspects without compromising *your* position. Well, it is not for me to comment on how well you kept 'shankara's philosophy alive in this debate ... but one thing is for sure! you did kindle in me a desire to go and read the philosophy of western scholars and that is saying a lot ... Anytime, any discussion motivates the members to read books and expand their vision about topics, the discussant has succeeded ! That is precisely what Beloved Kenji accomplished a month ago - he created an 'interest' and 'an 'awraeness;' in his audience ... and Chitta, you kept the 'flow' and the 'pitch' in your presentation ... this is not to say, it was 'smooth' sailing all the way ... there were times, when i felt 'inundated' with much too much information , some of which completely went over my Head ! But that is not your fault, chitta! That is my own limitation- it called the power of 'assimilation' ( grahan shakti) ! so guess what? in order to understand YOU, i have to understand SHANKARA'S ORIGINAL PREMISE ! and tell me , which is more difficult to understand ? your interpreation or shankara's doctrine? you know the answer. A swamiji ( a self realized one) whom i met in Sri Ramanashram told me thast it took him 3 and half years to understand 'the rope-snake' analogy? and if it took a self relized man 3 and half years to understantand this , how much longer it will take me , an UN-REALIZED SOUL?may be a lifetime? smiles!!! But as a person who is interested in Tantrik adwaitha , i would not like you to leave 'ishwara' out of the discussion. That would be the climax and i certainly don't want you to leave it out, please! SO, PLEASE POST THIS ONE!! well, whenever , i had doubts or questions about your presentation, i took the initiative of always contacting you by email and you always were gracious enough to clarify the issues... never once, i felt silly or stupid! i also know how you were stuck with a computer which was acting up all the time . But your enthusiasm never waned and you stayed up late nights just to respond to questions from Bhaskarji , Sadaji, Michaelji, VK-JI and Ranjeet-ji and others. and the best part is you never lost your 'cool' , while maintaining your own 'position' !( however UNshankara like IT MAY SOUND TO OTHERS) That is the hallmark of a good discussant. i know you are busy taking up your next job assignment in Chennai and you will be commuting between Chennai and Bombay trying to keep the balance and harmony between a demanding career and spending quality time with your family. Please , post the concluding installment on *Ishwara* for without *THAT*, Real will still be Unreal only !!!! smiles!! well, i need not tell you about 'upayas' - 1)Shakta Upaya 2)Anava Upaya 3)Anupaya I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL QUOTATION FROM SRI RAMANA MAHARISHI There is no greater mystery than this, that being the Reality ourselves, we seek to gain Reality. (Sri Ramana Maharishi 1879 - 1950) REALLY I AM! Blessings and Aashirwadams to a keen and earnest student of Adwaitha! ( tantrik? )
