A Special Note from Moderators Regarding the Silence Week

Namaste:

 

I want to share with you the changes that are happenings in several

popular cyber mailing lists.

 

The 'Bhakti List' with over 1200 members became silent from May

2003. The list states that slowly the messages of that list got

degenerated and the discussions focused more on personal glory

instead of "spiritual journey."

 

The 'nondualitysalon' list with over 800 members focused on

discussions mostly on 'neovedanta' has folded down from middle of

July 2004 and has been observing silence since then.

 

In his excellent post to the list, ProfVK-ji has pointed out the

discussions on "real and unreal" is slowly diverting us away from

our 'spiritual journey." I totally agree with his wise observation

and accordingly the list posted the announcement of 'Silent Week."

 

The purpose of this silent week is to contemplate on what is real

and take time to read the postings on this subject matter one more

time. Such contemplation will help us to understand that we need to

keep our mind wide open to listen to other viewpoints that we may or

may not agree. We all know that 'one shoe doesn't fit all' and

similarly it should be also true that 'any expressed opinion can't

fit all frameworks.' In the next month when we start a new

discussion topic, let us follow the wise advice of ProfVKji, and

express 'one reply' instead of starting an indefinite and

inconclusive dialogs of our own!

 

Finally, this one week silence observation will help us all to

spiritually renergize ourselves and get ready for many years of

continuous and fruitful spiritual journey.
