Guest guest
Namaste, Ramana says that the roots of karma have to be rooted out, not just prune the branches. Purification of the Buddhi is necessary for moksha and grace to shine as such. In Buddhism it is the same essentially. Just as a tree, though cut down, sprouts up again if its roots remain uncut and firm, even so, until the craving that lies dormant is rooted out, suffering springs up again and again. Dhammapada 338. Ramana said Grace IS. It is God or Guru! This is a description of Saguna Brahman. The so called creation is run on karma and prana. If there was no karma then there would be only a creation in potentiality. prior to the gunas so to speak. If there is but one desire or samskara unfried then Moksha cannot occur. Even a good desire that results in future Divine Descents is still not absolute Moksha. Although with Pralaya that would happen without rebirth. I don't believe in 'Freebees', and therefore don't believe that Saguna interferes in the Moksha of a person. The only interference comes with the subsumation of Saguna's own 'I' thought when the Buddhi is purified. This is Grace, Karma is Grace in action. Again we are talking semantics to a certain degree for I hold to the belief that creation never happened at all. We are just giving it some validity in discussion that's all. To summarise: Saguna Brahman projects this universe, then it runs on its own prana and karma. Some cannot accept this personal responsibility and posit that somewhere the 'Grace of God' will help them and look after them without effort. The very existence of cruelty to animals is a pointer to the fact the universe runs on its own steam, without interference from 'God'. It also points to its very unreality. The Yogas are all methods to purify the Buddhi or Antahkarana of its desires and samskaras. There are no freebees, Grace or Saguna Brahman/Sakti doesn't use 'Grace', unless the Buddhi is purified by Sadhana or Action and effort.IMO.......If Grace operated on unpurified buddhis and granted moksha to some, then it nullifies all efforts and sadhanas..It would even negate the need for Divine Descents.IMO..ONS..Tony.
