Guest guest
Namaskar, I apologize if I am asking a very basic question. I think I have heard in more than one chapter of Gita that man is not the doer of action but things/actions are taking place naturally. What exactly does it mean ? Is this material world outside the realm of the infinite ? Cannot be. Is everything taking place as per past actions ? Who/what controls that ? Who is keeping track of my past actions or how is it that I can continue to suffer for my misdeeds even after my rebirth ? Sometimes, we hear stories about a person supposed to go on a certain flight but for some totally unforeseen reason, he missed the flight and then the flight crashed and everybody died. Or maybe there were some who failed to show up for work on Sept 11 at WTC. How does all this happen ? thanks, Check out the new Front Page. www. Guest guest
I am a beginner in advaita, but I'd like to try to answer your questions anyways. Our individual minds can't see the whole life-development of the cosmos from a divine perspective. We can only see one stage, and thus can't make sense of the whole without a vision from beyond the rational. Don't try to make sense of the meaning of every event in other people's lives. It's impossible for the individual human being. Meditate on what September 11th (or any event) meant for you, for your journey towards transcendence. If everyone does that, the event will have had many positive effects. Have faith that even the most bizarre, painful events make sense in Brahman. I actually do have a friend who was a security guard at the WTC and didn't go to work that day. Amazing.
