Moderators' Note:

These age-old questions are repeated and debated endlessly. We

hope that the new members give themselves sufficient time to study the basic

works listed in the FAQ's, and Welcome Letter, and especially

this one:

It is best to frame the questions around these texts, rather

than base them on 'confusions' arising from ill-informed sources.

Esteemed members,

I am Raja, I am from Madras (a city in India).

I am a mechanical engineer, and I work as an engineering consultant.

I worked for a major truck company in India before moving to

consulting, and I have worked on gas turbine FE analysis ( aero and

power), a six sigma consultant, and right now I am consulting on

corrosion growth in oil pipelines.

Right now, I am in a terribly confused state.

1. Which is correct Dwaita or Advaita or Vishitadvaita?

2. Does Advaita nullify the existence of gods and devas.

3. I see a lot of heated debates in one of the Harekrishna sites,(

they spit venom on shankaracharya) and one of their claims is

Advaitins ( mayavadis-their term) are doing a blashphemy by equating

Krishna to Shiva or any other god and lowering him to a Demi god

level....

4. If all is god, why do we have problems?

5. What is the role of prayer, bhakthi and religion itself for an

advaitin?

So, can some one explain me in simple terms.

With regards,

Raja
