Namaste,

 

raagaadiguNashuunyasya shivasya paramaatmanaH .

saraagavishhayaabhyaasatyaagastaambuulacharvaNam.h .. 23..

 

Practicing the renunciation of pleasures of objects of passion is

(like) the chewing of

betel-nut by the auspicious Supreme Spirit, which is devoid of

qualities like

attachment and others.

 

raaga = attachment

aadi = and other

guNa = qualities

shuunyasya = devoid of

shivasya = auspicious

paramaatmanaH = (of the) Supreme Spirit

saraaga = passionate

vishhaya = objects (of pleasure)

abhyaasa = practice

tyaagaH = renouncing

taambuula = betel-nut

charvaNam = chewing
