Guest guest
Namaste, The subject “Value of Values” is a very important one. Look forward to a very absorbing discussion. Universal common ethical values are known to all, even a child. As it knows, getting hurt is not a pleasant thing for it when it comes to it, but the problem is when it comes to other children, does it respect the same value? It is the same with we, adults also. We compromise the universal values/ethics whenever they are not convenient and comfortable to us. Assimilation of values IMHO means respecting the values not only by me for my sake, but also my respecting them for others also. The second aspect is absent as people does not seem to recognize the value of values, as every time one goes against respecting the values whenever it is comfortable and convenient to him, it leaves, maybe unconsciously, a guilt in his mid, i.e. a conflict in his mind. Such conflicts get accumulated deep in one’s subs consciousness, and such a person becomes a split personality, and maybe a hypocrite. A mind with such guilts as its background, IMHO will never be able to get out of self ignorance. Unless these universal values are not respected in both ways, the values mentioned in BG will have no meaning, and once a person respects the universal values like honesty, non-cheating, non-injury, etc., and let others also enjoy these values in his day today activities, it becomes IMHO easy to appreciate and assimilate the 20 values mentioned in BG. Only such a mind is purified and available for assimilation of Tat Twam Asi. Hari Om The all-new My – Get yours free!
