Guest guest
>I am samant saurabh. Please tell me how to realize in meditation the >supreme Lord bereft of all attributes . Dear Sri Samant Shruti declares that one who has got teacher realizes God. Getting the right teacher is therefore the first step towards this journey. Even though getting the right teacher is not always a straight path, the search itself is worthwhile. This is an incident about Naren (Swami Vivekananda). In his search for a true teacher he had met several saints and philosophers but none could satisfy him. Someone suggested name of Sri Devendranath Thakur (grandfather of Rabindranath) who was considered the most learned person of his time. Naren reached him in Benares in the mid of night, when Devendranath was going to retire in his bajra on the waves of Ganges. Naren asked him point blank, "Sir, have you seen God?" Devendranath asked him to calm down and rest and said, "I will now tell you what shAstras say about God". It is said, at this Naren got up and said, "Sir, I am not interested in knowing what is written in shAstras. I am interested in knowing God." We all know how he continued wandering till he finally got his Guru in Ramakrishna Paramhamsa. Moral of the story is do not be afraid of experimenting and wandering on this path. Journey is never a straight one. Keep your mind open. I will share my own experience on this path. I started with Osho in very young age. Spent lot of time (and money) till I realized that he was not for me. Was it a waste? Not at all. It gave me the maturity to move ahead. I went on to Krishnamurthy to Raman to Buddhism to Zen to neo-advaita of Punja-ji and Ramesh Balsekhar and several more till I finally came back to traditional AcharyAs of Shankara Advaita-- which has been the culmination of my search. Therefore, should I directly recommend you to the path of Advaita? Certainly not. My experience is unless you come to this conclusion yourself, it is of no value. Keep on experimenting with an open mind and you will finally come to the point that is needed for you. Bon Voyage Regards,
