Greetings,

The Moderators wish to thank all contributors over the past

year who have dedicated their time and energy for the benefit of the

members. We expect Prof. V. Krishnamurty to return to USA by the end

of this month, and he has graciously accepted to be the Chief

Moderator for this year, 2005. His expertise in Vedanta is unmatched

in this List, and we should take every bit of advantage of it.

Last year's Chief Moderator also takes this opportunity to

congratulate the Moderator colleagues for their constant support in

difficult decisions, and the leaders of the Monthly Topics who have

attracted over a hundred new members over the past year despite a loss

of some others.

Suggestions for improvements of the List themes are always

welcome.

Shri Raghava Kaluri has volunteered to lead the Topic - Gita

in Daily Life- in April, 2005.

In order to plan for the rest of the year, the Moderators

request the members to volunteer to lead some topic of their choice

(within the scope of the List).

A list of topics is available in the Files section.

We wish you all the very best in your advaitic 'Sadhana', and

beseech your forgiveness for our errors of commission and omission

in conducting this List.

Namaste:

Sri Sunderji deserves three cheers from all of us for the untiring

and unselfish service to the list during past 14 months as the Chief

Moderator of this list. With the blessings of the Lord, ProfVK will

assume the position of Chief Moderator hopefully from the beginning

of March. Sri Sunderji and I have agreed to provide all the necessary

support to ProfVK until he becomes fully comfortable with the

operational details of the list.

Let me join Sri Sunderji to request many of the talented new comers

to the list to volunteer to lead vedantic discussion topics. The

healthy existence of this cyberspace Satsangh mostly depends on

scholarly contributions from the members of this list.

While browsing through the list archives, I noticed that we stopped

our Gita Satsangh at the end of Chapter 9. Personally, I find Gita

discussions should be an integral part of this Cyberspace Satsangh.

Consequently, I volunteer to lead the Gita discussions starting from

Chapter 10 from next month. I plan to post weekly few verses (two

to three) at a time and allow members to share their thoughts. I

certainly will not permit members to get into endless debates.

My plan is as follows: First, I will post summaries for each of the

9 chapters that we discussed before in the list. The complete

discussions on the first 9 chapters are available in the list

archives for those who want to learn more. After these summary

postings, I should be able to start chapter 10 from May of this year.

I plan to continute the Satsangh for the rest of the chapters. It is

very likely, the Satsangh will continue for another 15 to 18 months.

Please note that Gita Satsangh is in addition to the monthly topic.

I hope to see other members to come forward to volunteer to lead at

least one Vedantic topic for a month.

Warmest regards,

Ram Chandran
