A general guideline for new members

The thread "Why we need to pray to God" is interesting.

The thread started from a post of Gayatry-ji. She later

sent me a long post purporting to give answers from a

Swamiji on different questions touching various topics. In

the light of that post I am suggesting the following

guideline for Gayathry-ji as well as all new members.

 

1. It is necessary and worthwhile to confine ourselves to

one topic in one post, so that, if others are interested to

pursue the topic, it would automatically generate a thread

for discussion, as it did in the case of "Why we need to

pray to God".

2. If the post mostly quotes the answers given by a Swamiji

or a Seer, it is necessary to identify the Swamiji so that

others could benefit from the identification.

3. If the answers are pulled out of another part of the web

it is sufficient to give web references.

4. If the answers are pulled out of a book, one would need

to give proper references.
