Guest guest
PraNAms, I recently came across a prayer called Lingashtakam in a local MahaShivratri puja. The 7th verse caught my attention and the English translation goes as follows : "I bow before the Sadashivlinga, destructive of all poverty and misery in its eight aspects, which is the cause of all creation and which stands on the eight pedalled lotus. " I am sure the learned list members know more about this prayer, its author and perhaps somebody has commented on this. My first reaction was to link the number 8 to the eight-fold Prakriti referred to in Shreemad Bhagwad Gita chapter 7 (5 primeval elements, mind, intellect and ego). Any comments/info on this prayer ? thanks and regards, Shailendra
