Guest guest
The Self, Observer, is simplicity itself. So much simplicity that to the mind it is Nothing – even though it is literally EVERYTHING, the Self. As soon as we take maya to be more than just thoughts, then the mind is off to its races with words like “new”, “before, belong”… and then it, the mind, becomes these thoughts, maya, that it thinks. The subject of the Self can be approached from two different directions. First, from the perspective of the Observer, and then secondly from the perspective of the doer. >From the Observer’s perspective everything is just thoughts, maya. These thoughts make up our sleep-dreams and then the mortal-dream of maya, and also everything else, like OBE and previous-lives, that the mind imagines for its living or “life.” >From the doer’s perspective there is a problem, and this problem is language itself: there is no doer. (If there is no doer then, for the Observer, the doer’s language becomes pure entertainment, as it is here.) If there is no doer then the mind and its body cannot be doing anything. But the mind does not know this. If the mind thinks it can do things then let it project itself into a dream and then pretend that this dream is life, living. Since the mind is what it thinks, then if you pretend that you are dreaming long enough then you, the mind, will become the dream it pretends and then you are left to be the Dreamer, the Observer, the Self. The dreaming we call life, maya: If you meditate long enough then, like Buddha and Arjuna, you will go through these dream states that can sometimes appear so real that they will make life, maya, appear less-real, or surreal, and thus a dream. If you think you can do something to Awaken then explore politics, history, healthcare (that has nothing to do with health), war, justice, and especially religions and their cults, and even physics … and find out just how surreal this maya we call life really is. You will then have to accept that the dreams you have in your sleep are far more “real” than this surreal maya we call life…. And the further you explore this maya the more and more surreal (but very-very entertaining) maya gets with the likes of corruption… saints being sinners, lies are truths, idiots are savants, … etc, etc. If you have any doubts about just how surreal maya can get then put in a Google search for “ WTC 7.” Nobody, I mean nobody, on this earth can have a dream or nightmare that comes even close to the extremely surreal maya of “WTC 7.” More than anything else this extreme surreality of maya, life, should be enough to convince even a relative-fool that life has to be a dream because it is far, far beyond our wildest dreams, and thus too surreal to be anything else but a dream. Observe and compare your dreams long enough and you will get to the point where you will not care what is, and what is not, a dream. And when you (the mind) no longer care what is real and surreal, and what is a dream, or OBE, or a previous life, or whatever else the mind thinks it is, then YOU are UNTOUCHABLE – because YOU ARE no longer a doer but the Dreamer, the Self itself. -- If “you” must do something more than just explore the unreality/surreality of maya to Awaken then just meditate for the JOY of thoughtless Silence. Meditate for the Kundalini or “bodhi” (Eknath Easwaran used this term) that we get in this Silence of meditation when we uncontrollably get a thought out of Nothing. So much so that this Joy called bodhi or Kundalini is these thoughts, maya, that uncontrollably come out of Nothing. The more we meditate – for this JOY called Silence -- the more often we will get/be this Joy called bodhi or Kundalini. Until this Joy is (becomes a part of) our maya, life. Then it will become obvious, even to a relative-fool, that this Joy, bodhi, Kundalini is nothing but Ramana’s sphurana that is the Self itself. And far, far beyond your wildest dreams I am this relative-fool because I could care less if this is all BS, or fact or fiction, or just a dream, because I am not the doer. Nor am I the thoughts this imaginary doer needs to dream about writing all this/his BS, facts or fictions. gp
