Guest guest
Namaste Profvkji: What a great way to start this early morning Friday with tribute to Adi Sankara on his Jayanti day. Let me add the following tributes in addition to the excellent article by ProfVK to Adi Shankara, the visionary and missionary of Vedic Heritage and Culture. It is the genius of Shankara that brought the hidden treasures of the Upanishads, Brahma Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. He is the architect and builder who renovated and rejuvenated "Veda Vyasa's Vedic Heritage Temple of Wisdom " with Brahman as the Deity, the Vedas as its Tower, Upanishads as its Pillars, Brahma Sutras as its Tirtha Tank and Bhagavad Gita as the Sanctum Sanctorum and most importantly Advaita Philosophy as the Cement. After the renovation and rejuvenation of this great Vedic Heritage Temple of Wisdom, he made sure to preserve and protect this treasure by establishing four institutions (Mutts) at key locations (one in the north, one in the east, one in the west and one in the South). Shankara the visionary also specified functional roles for the established Mutts to propagate the Vedic Heritage and also to preserve and protect temples and traditions. Both volume and value of his contributions are immeasurable. It is the genius of Shankara that is responsible for our learning and understanding the genius of Veda Vyasa and the sages and saints of the Upanishads. Let us pray Bhagawan Shankara to help us all to guide our life and help us to remember Him and His services to the humanity all the time.
