Why Existence /Consciousness?

Greetings to everyone. Im a new member in this group and i like the

way things proceed here. I also had the opportunity to go through

the "Logic of Spirituality" discussion thread and it was very

informative. But i have to say i still have some unanswered

questions. (Please pardon my ignorance).

 

1) Why Existence/Consciousness in the first place? Whatz the point?

 

2) If at all "Existence", why manifestation?

 

3) If at all "Manifestation", why manifest as mind?

 

4) If at all "Mind", why ignorance/illusion/maya ?

 

5) If at all "Maya", why the consciousness has to identify itself

with Maya, forgetting its true identity?

 

Im not sure whether the above questions has answers in the realm of

intellect ( atleast the first one ). But im just looking for some

pointers in the right direction. ( from Vedas/Upanishads or other

sources ).
