Namaste Panda-ji and all,

There is a dharma-shAstra book called nirNaya-sindhu. There it says:

Five things are prohibited in Kali-yuga: 1. Cow-sacrifice; 2. Horse

sacrifice; 3. sannyasa; 4. flesh offering to pitR's; 5. A widow

getting a son through the brother of the deceased husband.

The sannyasa part is contradicted in another dharma-shAstra book

called 'devala-smRRiti'. There it says that so long as Ganges flows

or so long as there are vedas, sannyasa is allowed even in Kali-

yuga.

PraNAms to all advaitins

Note from VK as Chief Moderator: Because the question was raised I

have given the answer only as information. Please do not start

discussing these issues, since they will take us far out from

advaita and Shankara.
