Dear Prof VK,

Your post on Swami Chinmayananda's speech entitled Logic of Spirituality

reminded me of Dr. Sadananda's talk on the very same topic i.e., Logic of

Spirituality at the Shri R. Visvanatha Sastri Memorial Lecture, Kuppuswami

Sastri Research Institute, Mylapore, Chennai, India on 24th February, 2000 -

which also you posted on this discussion group.

Seems to me both talks are pertinent in the recent context of the ongoing debate

in the US on creationism vs Darwinian evolution. Please note that this is only

my observation and is not intended to distract us from our ongoing "Gita in our

daily lives" discussion.

With best wishes.

Mangesh Hoskote

Pranams to Professor Krishnamurthy and my teachers on the Advaitin. I

was thinking of all of you today and how graciously you have poured your

wisdom freely for sharing with us. Thank you for that.

After reading the message from Prof VK about Swami Chinmayananda's talk,

it occurred to me that the term Jagat (Universe) also means Dawn and has

roots in being Awake. Jago in Hindi means, "wake up". A Universe Awake

as the Self is pure Advaita.

Love to all

Harsha

Namaste Harsha-Ji:

In Sanskrit, the root verb "ja" - means "born from or in, produced

or caused by, descending from, growing in, living, .....

This satisfies all the expressed concepts associated with "ja".
