Hello, Hello,

I am hoping someone will be able to share some words with me

concerning a seeming problem of mine.

I have brushed off nurmerous phenomena over the years, however I am

conerned because this has been happening for around two months now.

I am experiencing an electral shock type feeling on the right side of

the chest. It is like a shock, and seems to shake my whole

awareness. I get a whooshing sound in my eays when it happens

sometimes. It hits and is gone in a second. It does not affects the

muscles or anything, it is just a flash of energy.

It is centralized on the right side of my chest, what Bhagavan Sri

Ramana Maharshi and hindu scripture calls the spiritual heart. What

is the net of all desires and such, that make the incarnation

happen. The american indians call it the first assemblage point of

awareness within the body.

I have been doing kundulini and breathing exercises for many years.

During the past four or five months I have been experiencing good

stuff with my kumbhaka or breath retention. I instantly go into into

samadhi. Everything stops and I glow as pure awareness.

Recently I have had to catch the body from hitting the floor. I have

been fighting off nirvikalpa samadhi. I do not want to hit the

floor, as I am not in an ashram or place with people who are

knowldgable about these things.

Renecently it seems that my mind just goes during kumbhaka. However

I hold onto the body. There is no Jason nor thoughts, no mind. It

is disorentating for a few seconds as the mind just blinks out.

My concern is with these electrical type shocks. It happens all the

time. It comes and goes. It has been happening for several months

now. Hence I am seeking advice. Has anyone done a sadhana involving

kundulini and breath work? Is this mentioned in any scriptures?

Does anyone trust someone who has experience teaching this sort of

stuff?

Thanks,

Namaste

Namaskar,

I am trying to explain on the basis of teachings of Yogees.

1. The sound in the body during Yoga sthiti which is not nomal is caused

by Dushit Vayu.

2. A feeling like electrical shock in the chaste is most probably due to the

imbalanced Bindu.

Possible reasons

Greetings Jason,

Based on the account of your experiences, you might consider contacting or

trying to find an experienced teacher; although this isn't always easy. I would

suggest contacting the Vedanta Society, which is centered around Sri Ramakrishna

and Vikekananda. There are probably a number of knowledgable swamis in this

order. If you're located near a center, you could even go and speak personally

to a swami; if you're not located near a center, perhaps you could get in touch

with someone of this order by phone. I don't know where you're located, but the

Vedanta Society has numerous centers in the U.S. and elsewhere worldwide. I

mentioned this Society because they are long standing and seem trustworthy in my

mind; their web address is vedanta.org. Here are a few more names of

organizations and websites that you might contact:

Self-Realization Fellowship- www. yogananda-srf.org

The Expanding Light- www. expandinglight.org

International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers- www.sivananda.org

I don't know very much about the last two, but I think both the Vedanta Society

and Self-Realization Fellowship are trustworthy and would have knowledgable

and/or experienced members (although some aspects of SRF seem a little esoteric)

that may be able to help you in this stage of your sadhana. Hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Nathan

Shri Jason, Namaskar

The first post in reply to your question was inadvertently sent incomplete. I

am completing it now.

The first thing you should please mind well that your complaint is not unusual

and serious. You might have experienced many similar although not exactly the

same health complaints during your Pranayam/samadhi exercise. If we are little

attentive the healing takes place automatically.

The feeling like electrical shock in the right side of chest is likely to be

caused by Sudden imbalance of Bindu. The sound in the body may be caused by

Dushit or Kupit Vaayu. During practice of Samadhi if one ignores observing

Brahmacharya or if he is victim of Swapnadosh the chest pains etc. arise. This

kind of chest pain mostly affects the left-upper side of the chest near

shoulder. When the pain is at right side (like shock or a twist) it is most

likely to be the imbalance of bindu coupled with blocked vaayu.

I suggest the remedies here :

Please do not be afraid that your health will be spoiled permanently.

Make 30 to 45 seconds Sanyam at the point of pain.

You must be knowing the trick of pulling vaayu out by vaayu, like thread by

thread. Inhale some vaayu , deposit it near the place of pain and exhale more

vaayu quickly.

Do not make strenuous respiratory exercise and longer kumbhaka. As soon as

you feel that it is going strenuous and you will be sweating shortly, give up

the exercise step by step. Do not take bath with cold water.

Avoid completely eating non-vegetarian diet if you are not already doing it.

Try to observe fast in the night and take only cow milk. Take simple vegetarian

diet in the morning and eat more butter or ghee.

If you know Basti kriya, do it or get if done under guidance of expert.

Never make a Sankalp of Nirvikalp Samadhi. It is automatically achieved

gradually when all Vikalpas in the mind are vanished. Pratiprasav prakriya help

clearing your memories and Vikalp.

Astrological and Ayurvedic remedies.

Jyotish is said to be the eyes of Vedas. (Vedchakshu). There is nothing under

this sky which the astrology can not study and prognosticate probabilities. If

you have studied or believe astrology you can make the following tests.

1. Find your fourth house, fourth lord, Cancer sign and the Moon.

You will definitely come to understand that one or more of these must have

temporary affliction by transit or by directional influence of the planet.

2. Find out the afflicting planets. If the planets are the Sun,

Mars or Ketu it must be a problem due to bile. If they are Venus, the Moon or

Jupiter, it should be phlegmatic problem and if it is Saturn, Mercury or Rahu

the problem should be wind. (generally affecting muscular tissues).

3. If the chest pain (shock like) is caused by bile, Gulvel Satwa

and Prwal Bhasma taken with Gulkand gives quick relief. If it is phlegm,

decoctions of Adulsa, Pimpli and black pepper is effective and if wind, Garlic

and black pepper are good medicines.

4. Ayurvedic doctor would be able to suggest more medicines and

give the botanical names for the above medicines.

Important - It is experience that half a table spoon of Triphala Powder taken

with hot water before going to bed cures the health complaints told by you very

quickly.

Lastly, I should not write this, but I thought it proper to reveal it to you

that I understand it from Dhyan that your health problem is not serious and

would be cured fully.

Hello,

Thank you for the response. I am 26, and have been doing kundulini

and pranayama for around five years. Before that is was a wester

sadhana from the age of 15, based on occult mental science etc.

Before that my mother had power of attoriny concerning my sadhana

since birth.

I have studied Ramakrishna and Ramana, tripura rahasy, intensly. I

know more than the average person concerning these. However my

kundulini and pranayama are based on mostly western teachings, simple

yeat powerful. Influenced from the like of the phsico-occult

bussines school, etc.

I am thinking about finding a sat guru in this field. I have had

many varied responses from around the world and the keep coming. I

greatly appreaciate your response. I have so many responses I am not

able to fully respond to each yet.

I would like you to explain Bindu and Dushit or Kupit Vaayu, in your

own words. I could look it up, but I would like to hear it from

people like you.

My basic meditation included rythmic breathing, sucking in prana and

shooting the kundulini up the spine, hitting each chakra, and

dissipating the excess thru the forheard. I hold my awareness in the

centre of the head. I do kumbhaka now, and this is an awsome tool.

I can hit samadhi in a few breaths.

I would be so kind and to spend a few moments, and teach me what you

know about this sadhana.

Much love and respect,

Namaste

All love is you, in me.

Om Namah Shivaya
