Thirty-two selected Vedic priests from the State will chant, non- stop, `Kanakadhara Sthotram,' 19 slokas, composed by Adi Sankara. According to a legend, Adi Sankara recited the slokas addressing Goddess Lakshmi when he visited a house, the inmates of which were very poor. They only had gooseberries to offer him. As he completed the slokas, there was a rain of golden gooseberries. The priests would recite the slokas 1,05,600 times in front of the Sri Krishna Temple here, the managing trustee of the 1,200-year old Kalady Devaswom Sreevalsan Namboodiri said. - PTI ....................................................................... ......................................................................
