Guest guest
Namaskar, Before we start something we must define the goal. In case of spirituality what should be our goal? To win the death? We know that's not possible. To go to heaven? We are not SO SURE about its existance. To attain eternal bliss and peace? Now this seems very feasible and very logical to our HUMAN MIND. So many siants of Indian origins used the term SAT CHIT AANAND in order to guide us toward our goal. So now we know the goal. If one says being X is my goal. One also says one has not attained X. Can we say one has acheived the goal? NO! We say that one has not yet acheived the goal yet. One might be very close but NOT THERE yet. Now if my goal is attain eternal bliss and peace and I still feel the sufferings and not happy about it, nor my mind is peaceful; can I say I have acheived my goal? Does it make any sense for me to tell others , "Look what happened to me! I took so much of efforts to reach my goal but I got something else. So the goal itself is useless!". The reasons for not reaching the goal could be many. Either I have lost the direction and diverted from the right path or I am on right track but I still require some more efforts to reach the goal and so on and so forth. And there is only one goal in the field of spirituality. People can give different names, but that does not change the goal. Does calling Bharat as Hindusthan or India chnages the nation? Let's say the goal is to reach the peak of a mountain. There are many roads - one built by Shankara, another built by Buddha yet another by Christ. There are many guides who know one or the other road as they have travelled it. Now it is very essential for us to start climbing. Decide which road to take and set out on the journey. If we just keep on conteplating which road to take, we can't reach the peak. The road can take us to the peak, but only when we start climbing. Other people can tell us that this road is better than that. But we should keep in mind that the people that tell us, are still at the base or at very low level of the trek. The ones at higher levels, even if they shout, are beyond our hearing limit. So the key here is to DECIDE YOURSELF and START. Now as we start walking the road we see our fellow traveller on the another road. At this point, our road is steep and his road is pretty flat. Does that make it a better and easier road? Everyone has to climb the SAME HEIGHT. So at some other point when our road is relatively easier, his road could be much difficult. Changing road is not going to help. Even if we change the road make sure that we change it in positive gradient. Otherwise the efforts will all go down the drain. Are these the only roads available? No. There are many other roads. These roads might be small and might not have guides available. But they certainly will take you to the peak. We can even start our journey through the untraversed part of the mountains. We have to pass through forests and face some more difficulties. But we still can reach the peak. We can create a road that others can follow in future. But remember one thing. Just below the peak there is a beautiful plateau. JUST BELOW but still BELOW. There is a beautiful lake and a garden with many delicious fruits. There is a very beautiful palace with great comforts. We can rest there for a moment, if we feel the need to enjoy it. But remember that's NOT our DESTINATION. We still require to climb a bit more. Only a bit, but we still have to climb to the peak.
