Guest guest
Namaste Mr. Rasa Von Werder has raised so many issues in his post particularly with regard to ego, enlightenment, judgment by god etc. etc. All of them need to be addressed carefully. All I can say is, as he also said, egoless state is not something what Advaita is talking about. When the ego drops the ignorance about its own nature, unchangeable nature, on unfoldment of self knowledge, the ego gets enlightened. It is not an egoless state. It has nothing to do with “loving God”. Whether one loves God or hates God, God does not bother about it, it is only we, who bother too much about that. It is all our notions. It is all about “educating” the ego. For survival one only needs to eat and that is natural process. However, it is not survival that we are all yearning for. Animals also survive. There is a yearning desire in everyone, and all our actions and running away from actions are towards fulfillment of that craving. It has nothing to do with going to Heaven or Hell, which are all states, after one dies (??). If one is given a chance now to go to Heaven, he will think twice, before saying yes. No one knows what happens. The heaven is right now here and it is for one to appreciate it or negate it. That is the ultimate message of Advaita. Charity is definitely good. However, for whose sake one is engaged in charity? One has to be very honest about answering that. Is it for God’s sake? Is it for the sake of the people to whom such charity is shown? It is for one’s own sake, i.e. for the satisfaction of one’s ego. I hope some of our members will address each one of the points raised by Mr. Rasa Von Werder. It is quite an essay but misses important points. First of all lets for arguments sake give some validity to this illusion and Saguna Brahman. You say essentially that there is no elimination of individual ego but a changing of it. This is not understanding that on 'Enlightenment/Moksha', the individual ego is surrendered in favour of the Universal Ego/Sakti, which does all the work. There will be some prarabda karma to carry out but the individual is gone, as it never was there in the first place. Only an appearace remains, which is misunderstood by the Ajnani or non realised person..............ONS..Tony. --- End forwarded message ---
Guest guest
Namaste Vedanta is all about revealing one's real self and explains one's true nature and one's relationship with the world, One is essentially divine no matter what one appears to be for divinity is at the core of one's personality. Vedanta helps one to unfold one's divinity, to gain the kowledge of one's intrinsic self, and with this knowledge one lives a life of perfect harmony, peace and bliss. .. . .
