If you want to send your thoughts on the Sri Dakshinamurthystotram, please go ahead and post them when you get time. We always welcome those who want to lead a month-long discussion on any advaita topic. Welcome again! ------------------------- Namaste to all jignaasus(aspirants): This is V.Subrahmanian (Subbu for short)from Bangalore, India. Owning to the Grace of the Sadguru, there was an opportunity to learn the Advaita vedanta from Masters like Sri D.S.Subbaramaiya, who served as a lecturer in Physics in Central College, Bangalore. He was a research student of the Nobel Laureate Sir C.V.Raman. Sri Subbaramaiya, an accomplished scholar himself, having studied under Panditaraja Sri.V.S.Ramachandra Sastrigal, authored a two-volume work on the SriDakshinamurthystotram, a study based on the Manasollasa and the Tattvasudha, in English. It was this great personage that introduced me to the Vedanta and taught some of the works of Bhagavatpada. After working in the RBI for some time, i took retirement in 1995 with a view to spend more time in the study and understanding of the Vedanta by making it meaningful for my own life. It is my intention and hope to benefit immensely from the rich variety of viewpoints, inputs and above all, the wisdom of the participants of this egroup. With warm regards to all of the sadhakas, subbu

Dear sir, I have had the good fortune of having had access to the aforesaid two-volume work on Sri Dakshinamurthystotram. It is a marvellous work. May I seek information as regards the availability of the website of this author. I have also happened to go through one big volume on Advaita philosophy authored by one Swamy Sachidandeswara Saraswathy, a disciple of Sringeri pontiff, translated into English by one A.J.Alston. Will it be of use for individuals not very much familiar with intellectual thoughts on Advaita, but who have a propensity towards Advaita as a subjective mind-transcending religion, to go through this great work? My mooring is basically towards the simple form of Advaitha transmitted to humanity by Bhaghavan Ramana. Is Ramana's approach different in anyway from the traditional advaita? I request to be enlightened on this aspect, since your background seems to be very authentic. yours ever in Bhaghavan Ramana Sankarraman Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free.
