Guest guest
praNAms Hare Krishna Is it not the symbolic expression of HanumAn to show us *nEti* *nEti* / nityA-anitya vastu vivEka and sva-svarUpAnusaNdhAna!!! Just my relative thoughts on the mail : Subbu prabhuji: Hanuman replied: Mother, I was looking for what I consider most valuable in these pearls. As I did not find it there, being of no value to me, I have discarded them. bhaskar : Yes, this is nothing but *anAtma vastu nirAkaraNa*...Hanuman discarded the nAma rUpa upAdhi (pearl) since it is *avidyAkruta*.... Subbu prabhuji: Sita questioned: What is it that you looked for in these pearls? bhaskar : This is sIta mAtaji query about *adhishtAna* Subbu prabhuji: Hanuman: It is my Lord Sri Rama! bhaskar : it is vEdic purusha- parabrahman Subbu prabhuji: Sita persisted: Where indeed do you find Him? Hanuman: My Lord is permenantly residing in my heart. bhaskar : Atma guhAyAm nihitOsya jaNtoH...says titirIya AraNyaka...Hanuman saying here parabrahman is nothing but his *svarUpa*. Subbu prabhuji: Sita: How do you say that? Thereupon, without hesitating even for a moment Hanuman tore open his chest with his hands. An awestruck Sita beheld there Sri Rama and Herself seated on a throne!! bhaskar : one who wants to know parabrahman should realize that within himself (not outside)..mAndukya says *ayamAtma brahma*....Hanuman implicitly saying here that brahman which is unobjectifiable like pearls etc. should be realized solely by means of the concept of Atman!! shankara, hence, says " only those that follow the trail of the concept of Atman can know it and *not those that pursue the concepts of external objects*..since it is the brightest light within ourselves!!! Advaita's paramArtha satya is at its best here in this hanuman episode.... Hari Hari Hari Bol!!! bhaskar

In Bangalore the Hanuman Temples have special pujas and other programs for the occasion. With a view to commemorate the occasion, a nice Hanuman incident is presented here: > Namaste! I would like to know the source for this story. While it seems to extol Hanuman's bhakti, it seems to go against Hanuman's character - 'buddhir.balam.yasho.dairyam', etc. He is described as 'budhimatam varishtam' - first among the learned. He is hardly likely to behave so rudely, especially towards Sita. In the Valmiki Ramayana, this incident is depicted very differently. Sita asks Rama's permission to bestow a gift to Hanuman. Rama encourages her to do that whereupon Sita unclasps the pearl necklace given her by Rama and gives it to Hanuman. Hanuman wears it around his neck and shines like a mountain adorned with snow. I hope I am not misunderstood. I am just perplexed by such stories. That of Sabari serving Rama fruits after tasting them is another such story. Harih Om.
