Guest guest
There is a small incident in the life of Bhakth Meera which i would like to share with members here. There was a famous Vaishnava Saint named Jiva Gosain who was the head of all vaishnavites in Sri Brindavan Dhama. Bhakt Meera wanted to visit this well known saint Jiva Gosain and approached him. But, Jiva Gosain , did not want to meet a woman and not only that he thought how can a woman have anything 'valuable' to say about Vaishnava philosophy? Therefore, he declined to meet Saint Meera and said he would not 'discourse' with a woman. This enraged Saint Meera who retorted 'Everybody in Brindavan is a woman. Only MY Giridhar Gopal is Purusha. Today only I have come to know that there is another Purusha besides Sri Krishna in Brindavan". On hearing this , Jiva Gosain was embarassed . How could a saint of his calibre think of someone as a 'man' or a 'woman' ...He realized his mistake and decided to meet Meera, the very emodiment of Krishna- prema. Swami Vivekananda says In the golden words of Swami Vivekananda: "What love shakes the whole nature of man, what love runs through every atom of his being, makes him mad, makes him forget his own nature, transforms him, makes him a god as the love between man and woman? In this sweet representation of divine love God is our husband. We are all women; there are no men in this world; there is but One man - Hari and he is our beloved. All that love which man gives to a woman, or woman to man, is here given up to the Lord." Once Surdas humorously asked Tulsidas, "When Shree Krishna is the descension of all the sixteen aspects of Divinity (solah kala), then why do you worship Shree Rama, Who has manifested only twelve Divine aspects?" Tulsidas could have retorted rudely , instead he responded in a lighthearted way ""Until now I only knew that Sri Rama was my beloved prince; upon learning today that He is an avatar who is the manifestation of twelve Divine spects, my devotion to Him has increased twelve times more!" This is the divine mood of the rasik saints exchanging jokes .
