Guest guest
Namaste all... In view of the recent topics brought up in the forum, certain fundamental issues come to mind. I must add that i am no scholar etc, but i do have a clear view on the outlines of the topics raised, not so much as a specific problem of hinduism, but as a problem of mass communication of spiritual pursuit and precedents. Again i add that this is only my take on the subject, and i add this now so i don't have to add it in the start of every sentence. Not only am i saying this as a non-Hindu western person, but i am saying all this as someone that goes by the gut feelings first and foremost. First and foremost, a subtle link has to be made, which seems to have been forgotten time and time again, and it feels that most of these unsolvable quarrels are due to the overlooking of these particular aspect. In one discussion that appeared in this very list, it seemed almost consensual that religious conversion is moral violence. Why is that so? Because given specific sets of parameters, outside biased concepts, expositions etc, noticeably of the extroverts, are forced inward towards the core of the being, generating a gutted extrovert, deprived of interior consensus, peace of mind, spiritual evolution etc. All that's left is an irrational pile of dogmatic cognition that bares no resemblance with the human that once inhabited that BMi complex. We have to be mindful enough to discern that cognition does not functions individually alone. It also functions collectively, adding to the picture the view of the apparent individual through the eyes of those who surround him. These applies to the discussion truth/untruth also. Internal truths are unquestioned, simply because truth is nothing more than logical (or factual) conclusion. Outward spoken truth is not valid, as a means with no end. Living by these standards solves the puzzle "should we tell the truth all the time?". We abide in truth, but we only answer to what we are asked. This is a good time to say that preaching is invalid as a means to higher truth. Preaching begins at the emissary, who will never be able to validate what he says or otherwise, simply because outward spoken truth is a means with no end. The receiver finds the end suitable to him alone, that's also why the order (preaching versus seeking truth) is all that matters. Isn't this the core of the apprentice/guru relationship? In the case of satsangha, the order shifts when those who state also wait for the replies so that collective cognition reflects angles that were previously not seen by the emissary. When the emissary starts to disregard replies, satsangh loses its purpose, everyone speaks, nobody listens. And a crowd shouts outward spoken truths, all means with no end. As i said in another message, religion in latin means "to reconnect". Advaitins dive into advaita because they sense the connection (through whatever means, logic, feeling etc). If the connection is not lost, advaita is not religion. Outward spoken truths and preaching is necessary for religion alone. Matters that concern the exterior of the individual, such as caste etc, are obviously exterior only matters. In view of exterior, collective cognition, it is possible to infer that such matters are only taken up to protect the body of the work. But have no relation to the content. Staring at the exterior, collectively aimed frame of the work, equals leveling the subject with religion. Again, just a means with no end. Or should we say "I am brahman, the brahmin" instead of "aham brahma asmi"? What is the logic behind genetics and race when we take all this to be but one? Dwelling on the exterior means that that's where we'll stay. Again, this is the same discussion we had under the subject "is advaita for sannyasis only?". Unfortunately, this is an all time low for the short couple of months that i've read all (yes, all) messages that have been posted. Should the learned members in this group wash away all the intellectual filth, discursive thoughts in endless circles, outward spoken truths as means with no end excuses for satsangha, with meaningfull posts, so that we can take back the tracks to interior, eternal, all pervading truth. My warmest regards on this low ebb of divine kmowledge... _____ doce lar. Faça do sua homepage. http://br./homepageset.html
