Dear Advaitins,

Chitro vatataromule vridha shishya gururyuvah

gurosthu mouna vakhyanam shishyastu chinna samshayah

I wanted to post something to the group. But nothing came to my mind but the

beautitude of silence one feels if one sees the picture of lord dakshina murthy

or bhagavan ramana or sri ramakrishna. Recently one member has said that

Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi told that before the mouna vyakyana of Lord shiva there

was a continueous question and answeres for one year between the guru and

disiples. This is really new find. Let us discuss the issues in this fourm with

the intention of getting the maturity so as to we can become one in silence in

the blessed state of atman,

chitram vataarormule vriddha shisya guruuyuvaha

Gurosthu mounam vyaakyanam shisyaasthu chinna samsayaaha

in the verse itself it is very clear that the guru adopts a silent mode of

interpretation for the "Chin" mudrhra-I don't know why Maharishi sri.Ramana

should give a different version other than what is said in the verse? To the

extent I have read sri Ramana's teachings and my close aquaintance with the

official translator of sri Ramanaasramam(English to Tamil)and who has interacted

with sri.Ramana(when he was alive) a number of times-I have not come across what

is now attributed to sri.Ramana now- Somayaji
