Guest guest
Dear Friends, As the new year starts, I am planning to put the following article on Krishna's leadership on the HS website. Sadaji's invisible influence is in the background, although I was unable to cite him (but can add that). The paper is almost complete, and Joyce, our editor (with feedback from the friends in the sangha) has been putting finishing touches on it. Nice pictures have been added which makes the article more attractive to read. Before I put up the article for public consumption, I just wanted the learned members to review it, if so inclined, and give feedback. I presented a version of the paper at the Academy of Management in Hawaii in August 2005 as part of a symposium on spiritual leadership in Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian traditions. Instead of putting it in an academic journal, it seems better to make it more broadly accessible. As you know, I am not a scholar in this area, and also might have taken some artistic liberty. So please forgive those errors and if they are glaring please point them out. That would be much appreciated. http://www.love-yoga.com/Harsha/Krishna/1.htm Harsha
Guest guest
Harshaji PraNaams I studied the paper. Looks good. H.H. Swami Ranganathanandaji had published a three volume series on Krishna and Hinduism - not sure exact title - but extensive discussion on the Krishna's leadership role and Bhagavad Geeta teaching. I have those volumes but in States. - Could be tapped from Ramakrishna's bookstore. Anyway, there is much relevant discussion on Krishna's charismatic leadership. Hari OM! Guest guest
Dear Sadaji: Namaste. Thank you for taking the time to read the paper. It will be made publicly available in a few days. After that, if people have comments and/or possible corrections, we will post these as well. I am especially curious about the metaphorical interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita (with Krishna being the soul and senses being horses and Arjuna being the intellect??). If any one of the learned member wishes to summarize that notion and link it to the Upanishads (there is a linkage because one of the Upanishads also uses this analogy), that would be great. I would love to read that. I will look into H.H. Swami Ranganathanandaji book on Krishna and Hinduism for insights on Krishna's leadership as you suggested. I only looked at some of the modern western literature on leadership theories to give a context to Krishna's actions. By the way, we are enjoying your notes and commentaries on the Gita. At one point, you were planning a book and I don't recall if you finished it. If you have a website like profvk with your collected writings, we can link to it. I would be happy to put all of your writings up on my website as well We have plenty of space and shortly will put a good search engine (perhaps google) so people can easily search by key words. One of the facts of life when one has one leg here and one leg there. Hari OM! Sadananda
