I agree wholeheartedly with what you

are saying. There is a hierarchy of values and ethical and

spiritual values should guide the practice of science. The

administration of mood altering drugs to combat depression

is I think only used by responsible psychiatrists as a short

term measure to preserve the patient against self harm.

In the long run deep inquiry in the source of pain and

suffering and acceptance of what cannot be changed

is the answer.

 

You say Western science, do you mean science

in general or western scientists. Is nuclear

weaponry and its developement moral

anywhere it occurs East or West?

The imposition of western science as the only alternative to all the

man kind problems needs to be questioned by irrespective of nationalities.

 

The nuclear issue is far more complex to deal it simply here. If the

root causes contributing to a nation to occupy, colonize, exploit another

nation are eliminated then it will go a long way to dissuade people from

building mass destruction weapon based deterrents. Practice of Dharma is still

extremely relevant in our current age.
