Guest guest
Namaste Sadananda ji: The Series made very good reading and the concluding one especially is so full of wisdom. Swami Paramarthananda ji stresses 'dwelling upon the teaching' and writing about the teaching with a view to share the wisdom contained in it is certainly dwelling upon the teaching. It is Jnana Yagna. Let the Gita Navaniitam be soon churned out and presented to all of us. Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. With Respectful regards subbu Bring words and photos together (easily) with PhotoMail - it's free and works with Mail.
Guest guest
Shree Subbu - PraNaams Thank you for your kind words. I am also enjoying your sat sangh. With my Gurudev's blessings and the blessings of all my teachers, I should start the series soon. Just finished giving a camp on Upadesa Saara at Chinmaya Misson. I find the Indian environment is more conducive for my Nidhidhyaasana. Let us see what He has planned for me. Hari OM! Guest guest
Namaste Sri Sadanandaji : Thank you for this 'Vara prasadam' of Gita Navaneetham to the devotees in this cyber Satsangha . Navaneeta Chora (Butter Thief) is also a Chitta Chora ( stealer of hearts) - No matter whether it is Brindavan Dham or Washington Dham, Bhaktavatsala KRISHNA resides in the hearts of his devotees and HIS words in the Srimad Bhagvad GITA are always a source of eternal and infinite delight ( Sadanandam and Paramanandam) to seekers of Truth and knowledge. Verse 20 of BAJA GOVINDAM STOTRA reads bhagavad.h giitaa kiJNchidadhiitaa gaNgaa jalalava kaNikaapiitaa . sakRidapi yena muraari samarchaa kriyate tasya yamena na charchaa Let a man read but a little from Giitaa, drink just a drop of water from the ganges, worship murari (govinda) just once. He then will have no altercation with Yama. (Stanza attributed to dR^iDhabhakta.) VERSE 27 OF Baja Govindam stotra reads geyaM giitaa naama sahasraM dhyeyaM shriipati ruupamajasram.h . neyaM sajjana saNge chittaM deyaM diinajanaaya cha vittam.h Regularly recite from the Gita, meditate on Vishnu [thro' Vishnu sahasranama] in your heart, and chant His thousand glories. Take delight to be with the noble and the holy. Distribute your wealth in charity to the poor and the needy. (Stanza attributed to Sumatira.) (http://www.nads-sc.uiowa.edu/~sbulusu/carnatic/c1824.html ) In these day of internet , are we not fortunate that we ( residents of other countries) are able to bathe our intellects in the Knowledge of Srimad Bhagwat Gita even though the 'SPokesman' is far away in Chennai, India? This is Sri Krishna Bhagwan's infinite mercy and compassion - He may take many forms and names but He is the all pervading consciousness Sriman Vishnu! :-) It also gives me pleasure to know more about KARMA YOGA AND ITS FINER NUANCES. i was more into bhakti yoga. It is now more clear to me how to be an adhikari of 'Vedanta'; , one needs to have an in depth knowledge of Karma yoga - the practice of Karma yoga teaches you to how to be dispassionate and also nonattachment to the results of your actions. AS the SRIMAD BHAGWAT Gita says The person whose mind is always free from attachment, who has subdued the mind and senses, and who is free from desires, attains the supreme perfection of freedom from Karma through renunciation." Sadaji, I have printed all the posts in these series and during my lunchtime at work, this is what i read. Sometimes it takes me multiple readings to grasp the full meaning for i am still a 'child' ' in this study of vedanta . Sir, i dedicate this verse from Srimad Bhagvat Gita to you Chapter 5 , verse 16 jnanena tu tad ajnanam yesam nasitam atmanah tesam aditya-vaj jnanam prakasayati tat param When, however, one is enlightened with the knowledge by which nescience is destroyed, then his knowledge reveals everything, as the sun lights up everything in the daytime. oN THIS NOTE , May i say that the same 'Sun' (ADITYA) that shines in Chennai, India is also shining in Washington , U.S.A - you say you like doing 'Nidhiyasadhana ' in the Indian environment . Understandable . The sun is the same and its reFlection is the same but the rivers where the sun's reflection fall may be different - one river may be Ganga and the other 'Potomac' river ! :-) However, Michaelji is correct , whether the Divine mother assumes the formS OR NAMES OF SARASWATI , GANGA , YAMUNA, KAVERI, NARMADA , SARAYU ETC , SHE is still the ever-flowing CHAITANYA - CONSCIOUSNESS ! SHE IS KRIYA SHAKTI, JNANA SHAKTI AND ICCHA SHAKTI and without her divine will , nothing moves ! Sri gurave namaha Aum namo bhagvate Vasudevaya
