Guest guest
Namaste, Faith is abidance by the stamp of truth in the Self. The realm of faith is the land of certainty. If it were not, how could it be called 'faith'? Isn't there a fracture of faith the moment there is loss of certainty? And then, can we call this fractured thing 'faith'? But we do, and that is the source of confusion regarding the word 'faith'. Faith is repose, and it is the nature of Self. Doubt hides the natural faith (repose) of the Self, and then faith must be recovered by certitude – by cleaving through the forest of doubt with the sword of reason to return once again to faith, the repose of self in the Self. Faith is what is to be recovered, and reason is the means to its recovery. But reason is easily misled into the land of fantasy. What is it that holds the reigns of the chariot of reason to restrain it from flying into the alien lands of fantasy? It is faith in the Pole Star of the Luminescent Word of Self (Scripture) that shines in the sky and helps navigate reason to its Destination. To navigate the chariot of reason, one needs to have faith in the Pole Star. Faith is necessary for reason to reach Home. So, what is faith when we are in the doubtful waters of samsara? It is the repose of Self that is still there underneath the spectrum of doubts thrown up by the prism of ignorance. Faith can only be this much, and not more, in the troubled waters of samsara, but it shines more and more as more and more of the lost repose is regained until there finally is the original Repose in the true Faith. Faith is repose in the Destination that was once the Place from where it got lost. Reason is the means for recovery of the faith that is lost, and faith is the pre-requisite for reason to recover it. Reason is tautological to Faith. It is all a round circle. The long journey to the stars and the return to Home is after all a Leela of Self- Discovery. The lover who asks a reason for her love can find it only in her Heart. Warm regards, Chittaranjan
