Dear ChittaranjanJi

>The example of the son of Jabala is an exception and not the rule.

>The effort required for a person belonging to the kshatriya varna or

>vaishya varna to change into a brahmana is so great that it is almost

>impossible to achieve it in a single lifetime.

For a person who believes that the Vedas are eternal and that its

truth, rtam is non changable , there can be no question of "exceptions

to the rule". One Vedic statement cannot contridict another. There can

be no exceptions to the rule. This was the gist of the argument Swami

Vivekananda had with Pramadadas Mitra.
