Guest guest
H,N, Sreenivsa Murthy [ narayana145] Dear members of the group, Pranams to you all. This has reference to the question " What is Sat, Chit, Ananda?" put by sri Tribhuvan Pabri and the subsequent reply by Sri Kuntimaddi Sadananda. What is Sat or Reality or Existence? That alone is Sat, which cannot even be thought of as non-existent. What is Reality? That which does not disappear at any time or place. That unique principle whose existence cannot be doubted, whose being depends on no other and which is immutable, that alone is to be called Real. Reality is that whose non-existence cannot even be imagined. What is Real? That which exists in itself is Real. Reality is that whose existence is undeniable, whose absence or non-existence cannot be conceived or oterwise experienced. Reality is that whose existence can never be doubted. What is the standard of Reality? That alone is real which exists by itself, which reveals itself by itself and which is eternal and unchanging. Seekers and Mumukshus are requested to relate the above stated facts to themselves and see for themselves whether they are true or false. Tri-basic view of Life has to be taken in order to examine and verify the above stated facts. With warm regards, Sreenivasa Murthy. Guest guest
post number 30744 Bhikku yogiji : You are most amazing of all monks in the buddhist order ! Hats off to you for explaining the concepts of Sat, Chit , Ananda in this articulate fashion. Gosh! i am dazzled by the splendor and divinity in your post. When a staunch Buddhist takes Adi shankara Bhagvadapada's name, it proves that Our Advaitacharya is indeed the jagadguru! ' You go to say : (the most profound of wisdom is referred to in the terms 'sat-chit-ananda'. You need to understand only one of them to understand the profundity of the truth. Choose the one you please. ) Where is the need to exercise a choice here ? are we in a Pizza parlor that we have to choose what toppings we want on a pizza ? Olives, Pepperoni,Green peppers, Red Onions , Mushrooms? When one has understood the Truth , Truth is all there is ! What is there to choose ? on another note , Taittiriya Upanishad says "Satyam Jnanamanantam Brahman. " BraHman is Existence, Consciousness, Infinite (II.1). In the same upanishad , Brahman is also described as Bliss (Ananda) (III.6). Then wrhen you combine these two verses together you get , Sat-Cit-Ananda or Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. So , where is the question of Choice ? It is chiceless choice-Sat-chit- ananda! Enjoy - life is very short - like a dewdrop on a lotus leaf! The meaning of Sat-Chit-Ananda is known fully only in the experience of Sat-Chit-Ananda. Sat-Chit-Ananda is our nature. It is both experience and the foundation of experience. It is where the overwhelming dynamic power of change and manifestation (Shakti which appears as the Goddess or the chosen deity in the relative world) and the Self-absorbed power of being (Underlying Reality referred to as Shiva, the ground of play for Shakti) merge and One reveals its Eternal Wholeness to Itself. In unity there is little to behold; So She, the mother of abundance, Brought forth the world as play. He takes the role of Witness Out of love of watching Her. But when Her appearance is withdrawn, The role of Witness is abandoned as well. Through Her, He assumes the form of the universe; Without Her, He is left naked. If night and day were to approach the Sun, Both would disappear. In the same way, their duality would vanish If their essential Unity were seen.
