Namaste Satsanghis:

Happiness, Love and Peace are integral parts of our true divine

nature but we seldom recognize their presence. It seems that we have

to have many repeated external encounters to recognize their

presence. God is also ever present but without recognizing the

Divine within we search for Him through events of our life journey.

This chapter is a slide show of Divine glories and the producer,

director and exhibiter of the show is Divine Himself.

It seems that Lord Krishna understand our difficulty of comprehending

Him and He informs through Arjuna that we are not alone with this

problem. The good news is that even the Devas and highly evolved

souls fail to understand how He projects Himself as the universe and

all its manifestations. He further goes on to explain the secret of

His manifestations and confirms the fact that qualities exhibited in

our lives such as wisdom, truth, contentment, etc. originate from

Him.

The true devotees of the Lord have no problems in comprehending Him

because they are wholly absorbed in Him. Having completely

surrendered to Him through single-minded devotion they are granted

the power of discrimination, the discrimination that leads them from

the unreal to the Real. Krishna in subtle terms emphatically declares

that the knowledge of the omnipresence of the Divine can only be

gained through Divine Grace alone.

Arjuna on his part accepts the descent of the Supreme in a human form

and he sincerely wishes to know from the Lord Himself His Cosmic

powers by means of which He controls the diverse forces of the

universe. The Lord was very pleased with Arjuna's attitude and with

great compassion describes His Divine glories by bringing them within

the range of Arjuna's comprehension. He explains His limitless

manifestations and illustrates how He upholds everything. He conveys

to Arjuna that the Lord is the Almighty Power that creates, sustains

and destroys everything.

In the entire chapter the presence of God as a superb glory in every

form of excellence is described with particular instances quoted as

illustrations. He is crystal clear in His expressions -anything that

is supernal, whether in knowledge or power, anything that is

superhuman in the way of its action represents a Divine Expression.

Many events that we witness in our life happen beyond human control

and under standing. Everyone knows what these things are: Nature

operates according to its own design and law and they operational

rules are beyond human comprehension. We have encountered (and will

encounter) events or phenomena for which man has no control and of

which man can have no knowledge. These are His glories or the

Vibhutis, the majestic manifestations of God.

Anything which wakes up the soul from within should be regarded as a

manifestation of the Lord.. The very first cry of the newborn child

illustrates the Divine Presence. Our expression of love and

compassion is a form of Divine Manifestation. In other words,

anything in this world which stimulate our souls, whereby momentarily

we act spontaneously without conducting any intellectual analysis

is Divine. At that moment we go beyond the limitations of our body,

mind and intellect and allow the soul to enjoy the Divine Union. This

is not unusual and we have witnessed events when a brave man (woman)

jumps over the river to save a drowning child even when he/she can't

swim. There are numerous heroic incidents similar to that have

happened during natural calamities such the earthquakes, hurricanes,

accidents, etc. When the Divine touches us, we cease to function as

human beings with the built in constraints of doership and ego and we

agree not think and/or behave as intellectuals. Consequently, we lost

our language of communication during this transaction and can't

explain others our Divine experience.

>From ancient times, the Divine Glories expressed through the

architectural structure of temples and also their location. Greatest

temples in India are in great locations with beautiful architectural

structures. They are mostly located on a mountain top or the banks of

a mighty river or at the location of the meeting of two rivers or

near a water falls or on the sea shore. Examples of such temples

include the Banaras viswanath, Bhadrinath, Thirupathi Balaji,

Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Puri Jaganath, etc., etc. The Hindu

religion symbolically provides the glories of the Lord by the ideals

and beauty represented by the idols and the beautiful locations and

the architectural structures of the temples. The scriptures provide

the Divine Glories through 33 million ideals represented as Devas and

this chapter provides a quick preview of those glories.

Harih Om!
