I am totally baffled to see 4000+ items searched by

google search engine for the search word religious

wars. I always wonder why

people hate each other in the name of

religion. Obviously every one

loves one's own religion. In one's

religious fervour or chauvinism

one hates the other religions.

Namaste RajyaJi,

Actually the Google figure is much larger than that.

It's 44 million 800 thousand. Is that 4.08 crores?

There's a lot of it about. Google 'attacks on

Christians in India' and you will get

3 million 730 thousand hits. 'Attacks on

Muslims in India' generates 12 million,

600 thousand hits. The ideals of the

Mahatma seem to be honoured more in the

breech than the observance.

'Attacks on Hindus in America'

generates hits that are mostly connected

with the bigger concept (for Google) of

9/11 but there are references to the

recent attack on the temple and the use of

the Om sign on socks and A.I.T. in the

Californian Educational Curriculum.

Best Wishes,

Michael.

This is a wonderful question and may be a very difficult one to answer.

The problem is not with ones love for one religion or ones dislike.

The problem is with ignorance. When one is ignorant, the chances of one

getting exploited is too much.

what one fails to understand is

The all powerful God, Almighty - you can whatever name you wish to call- why

on earth did he create people as children of parents who belong to different

religions- different faiths? If one believe in the power of the Almighty, then

the answer to this itself is revealing.

all the religions agree on the free will of human beings.

but then they try to force a change in the free will - not by educating- but

by threatening...scaring....inducing...

It would have been nice if only any one eho wants to help another stop merly

by helping and not by insisting on making them accept the help.

The study of religions is very interesting. We read the interpretations and

explanations...then we should only contemplate on that.

We also need to accept that finally religion is a private matter...a matter

between an individual and the Almighty. the rest of the community can only

offer a little bit of support - by way of education, by way of discussion...by

love, by compassion...

No religion breeds terrorists...but the indoctrination produce fanatics and

fanatics have no mind- they are blind-

and shockingly even the religious heads of any religion - without exception -

are afraid of fanatics

since for a fanatic...there is nothing to loose... while the people around

them who are ordinary- they have everything to loose...not merely life..but

everything else..

and solution to this is only

respect for each other human being...value of humanness..

that is possible only when we agree to live and let live...be my faith may be

the right one...be my faith be the wrong one...

let me go thru this - and enjoy the fruit of that action...be it a hell or

heaven...

if there is a judgement day, let me hear the judgment and let me go thru the

punishment or reward...

but let me live my life ...not be forced to live my life the way some one else

want

Dear Michael, Also search "Attacks on Hindus in India" and you will

get over 6 million hits, so don't think Hindus are better off in

India. Anyway, these numbers are bogus because they also include

substring matches which may or may not be relevant to the string being

searched.
