Guest guest
This letter cannot contain all those quotes from vedas and upanishads. In cannot call in all "great" mens sayings to support its statemant. The question itself is so silly ,it requires no debate at all. In Enlightenment, who is enlightened? THE ENLIGHTENMENT EXIST EVER AND ONLY THE VEIL OF IGNORANCE IS REMOVED in the so called process of enlightenment. The proper debate would be, instead,"Is Ignorance Personal". Truly, when enlightened, 'i' dont exist anymore to examine the 'personal' or impersonal' nature of Enlightenment, for, there doesnt exist any duality any more-the enlightened and the enlightenment are nothing diverse. What remains is only "IS". The 'personal' belongs only to the 'body-mind-intellect' equipment. Beyond that,'you' and 'I' dont exist for a quarral on the nature of enlightenment-only existance exists. Guest guest
As far as my knowledge goes, there is no universal definition of enlightenment. Even among Vaidikas, every sect has its own definition for enlightenment (read it as Moksha). According to Advaita, Moksha is the knowledge that Atman and Brahman are the same. Since this a matter of knowing, moksha does become subjective. There is no way to identify a given individual is enlightened or not. And not all enlightened "egos" behave in a specific manner, so that one can study the common behaviour. I hope I have not started a new topic all together. Thanks & Regards Partha
