Guest guest
H.N.Sreenivasa Murthy Pranams to you all. Who is the person to be enlightened? The person appearing in the waking state, the person appearing in the dream state ? Where is the person of the waking when dream state is happening? Has he disappeared completely or is he hiding somewhere? From where did the person in the dream state appear and when the waking state happens where does he go? Sri Gaudapada states: AdAvantE ca yannAsti vartamAnEspi tattathA | vitathaiH sadruSAh santOsvitathA iva lakShitAH || vaitathya 2-6 That which is non-existent at the beginning and in the end, is necessarily so (non-existent) in the middle. The objects are like the illusions we see, still they are regarded as if real. All metaphysical questions are to be answered from the standpoint of the Totality viz. Tri-Basic View of Life and not from the partial view of life. Let us remember what Sri Shankara has stated in the Sutra 2-1-11. Let the enlightenment dawn within us FIRST and AFTERWARDS ONLY we can see for ourselves whether the Enlightenment is personal or not. May The Divine Reality lead us to the Real. Guest guest
praNAm Bhaskar-ji, Thanks for your reply. However, unfortunately it does not answer my quest to understand concept of akhanDa vs. upAdikrita aatma svarUpa as expounded within Advaita. Long ago I had a question regarding the same issue and still waiting to get answers from knowledgeble members. Please see whether you can address it ; Terms of Service.
