This comes into the definition of the Grace of the Master bringing

healing to an ailing person and not the egoic manipulation of some

technique or other to gain power through knowledge over what is due

to happen. Surrender must mean foregoing that. Ramakrishna would

not pray to the Divine Mother to heal his own cancer.

I understand that great Bhaktas like Ramakrishna would not pray

for the removal of physical obstacles. I myself was enraged many

times, but never expected that such a thing as a cure could come for

me. I did not believe in a personal God who is there caring about

me, nor was I a devotee of any particular deity in this lifetime. I

simply lived my life and circumstances led me to meeting my Guru.

Why then did He remove my samskara by making me see and understand

that death-process in which I was choking desperately. "This

samskara is leading you to another suicide" , said my Guru once when

we met. "If you wish, you can see it for yourself and let go of this

memory replacing it, with the energy that I will transmit to you,

for an understanding that you had to die." So I went, re-lived the

situation and died again, this time in a different way, surrendering

myself completely. This was how the cure was operated. It did not

involve any trick.

Nevertheless I think you clearly lack understanding of

Astrology. It is not aimed at worldly power (otherwise all

astrologers would be rich and have whatever they wanted). It is a

KNOWLEDGE of our mutual relation with all the planets and stars. It

is a science aimed at healing; at removing obstacles; at bringing

light where there is urgent need for it. It is a science of wisdom

and not mere power-hungry manipulation. It is a sacred science. It

only predicts possible outcomes or best occasions for doing things,

it is not infallible either.

I think you are perhaps mistaking astrology for sorcery, which

is quite another thing.
