Guest guest
Jay Gurudev, A lot of pple have answered your queries excellently. Just putting my two-paisa worth!! In my view, a sadhak a someone who performs sadhana. Of course, he may or may not have taken Guru Diksha. However, it helps tremendously, if one performs Sadhana after taking Diksha, as Diksha provides a protective cover for the Sadhak. Performing Sadhana requires one to be very careful, and is akin to walking on blade of sword. However, after Guru Diksha, the divine form of Gurudev stays with the Sadhak constantly, providing him with protection, guidance and care. Disciplehood is a very high form. Just taking Diksha, or performing Sadhana , or touching revered Gurudev's feets do NOT just make one a disciple. As an analogy, performing Sadhana is like learning alphabets (a b c...), while disciplehood is like attaining PhD. A disciple has to offer everything to his Guru, disciplehood requires trues love to Gurudev, and is founded on tenets of service, perseverance, patience, devotion and faith. A disciple exists only for his Guru, and is everready to sacrifice not just his tan (body), man (mind) and dhan (wealth), but also his life at a moment notice. It is a very high stage, and by offering everything, a disciple attains everything. In short, he dips into the divine lake of love, devotion & service, and obtains all the pearls of sadhanas, spiritual and material upliftment. It is a very tough process, but it is a very simple process also. You might argue that if a disciple offers all his wealth to Guru, then what is he left with, or live on. You should not forget that the divien form of reverent Gurudev is always with the disciple, and Guruji takes care of all his needs. simple "miracles" keep happening in his life thru which he never faces the paucity of wealth, food or other basic requirements. However, a true disciple knows in his heart that everything, his life, wealth etc. all belong to Gurudev, and he is just a temporary carer of these for his Guru. There is no difference, not even a single inch, between a disciple and his Guru. Disciplehood means coming near, nearer, nearest.. and then merging with the Guru. A disciple doesn't need to perform Sadhanas. He realises all the rare Sadhanas just by doing Guru sewa. His kundalini awakens, and he is forever near his Guru. Since the divine form of his Guru stays always with the disciple, and he can communicate with Him all the time, so the disciple is never alone, never in problems. Then he understands the verse... "Ab Soump diya is jeevan ka sab bhaar tumhaare haatho mein, hain jeet tumhare haathon mey....." Reverent Gurudev has explained about these topics in some excellent cassettes like ... "Guru Aur Shisya", "Mein Kho gaya, tum bhi kho jaao", "Sadhana path" etc. hope it clarifies some of your doubts. It is a bit difficult to explain these subtle processes, one understands it by experiencing it. For example, there are some Sadhaks, who attended the 7 day Delhi shivir in early nineties with empty pockets. They didn't have any money, they just used to buy lottery ticket daily, win it, and use the money in doing Sadhanas & taking Dikshas at the camp. And they always used to select the winning tickets!!! It is a fact of life, that the more one does Guru service, the more one comes closer to Gurudev, and the more success (s)he achieves. About siddhashram etc. - Soul never dies. It is eternal. U see the body form thru physical eyes. Physical eyes arent capable of going deeper than some sets of molecules and compounds which form the body. As an analogy, when u see someone in yr dream, thru your inner conscious, u dont see their body, or physically touch them. however, in yr dream, u touch others, talk with them, travel with them etc. u do a lot of things with your inner conscious during sleep (when this outer conscious sleeps), which u cant do with physical body. Similarly, regardless of this physical body, u can go to Siddhashram. Many grishasth disciples of revered Gurudev have gone with Him to Siddhashram and come back in their physical body. The physical body is just a carrier, like a car/scooter to transport soul. Just as a human can walk and can also ride a scooter, similarly an activated soul can travel with or without a body. About celibacy etc. - Of course, it is not possible not live a grihasth life in a celibate state. However, it is a question of maintaining balance. One sud maintain a balance between the two. It is a bit difficult task, but is achievable. That is why grihasth is supposed to be the toughest phase of life, and moroever, this cud be a reason why the grihasth achieves faster success in sadhana compared to a yogi or ascetic. Pujya Gurudev has devised some simple, short sadhanas so that the grihashths can also achieve success in shorter timeframe. just some of my humble views, btw, A belated "Very Happy Birthday" to Ashishji. Many Happy Returns of the day. Jai Gurudev PS: For non-hindi reader, grihasth means living a wordly, family life. , Sanjay Dudeja <sanjaydudeja> wrote: > Date : 12/05/2001 > > Dear Guru Bhais & Bahans > > JAI GURU DEV ! > > What is difference between SADHAK and DISCIPLE.
