Guest guest
Arvind i don't know if Guruji will like to go for this way of advertising Have u taken permission from him in this regard. I remember his words that if he wanted he could have hired a advertisemnt company for advertising but he wants his disciples to ise to such a level that as soon as people see them they might know that something is happening there. And this will be the real advertisement. He wanted us to personally approach people n tell them about Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan. And believe me nothing works like it. What people want is the manifestation of divine. So the best way of advertising is to rasie ourselves in the spiritual as well as material level. Guest guest
Jai Gurudev! I'm an advertising writer working in Ahmedabad. I agree to what Arvindji says. Because as long as it meets the purpose of reaching out to masses, be it through word of mouth or advertising (both, effective medium of 'COMMUNICATION') without commercialising the entire excercise, we will actually be spreading Pujya Guruji's message. Besides, it'a known fact that LANGUAGES are the biggest barriers of communication in India. Therefore ignoring them won't help in spreading the message across the nation. If any communication strategy or piece of communication is to be developed, i'll be more than glad to get involved. Guest guest
Jai Gurudev Anuragji, People have placed ads about shivirs and mag in newspaper in the past. Posters and billboards have been putup in the past for shivir announcements etc. And mags have been putup in book stalls in Delhi since past 7-8 years at least. I know that people have even put ads in cable tv about mtyv. I had talked about placing ads/posters idea very briefly to pujya Gurudev some years ago, and had received His permission. However, I didnt act on it due to laziness, etc. This time I want to do some background work, and go to Gurudev with complete info list and plan. You are very correct that "word of mouth is most effective". And we sud rise to such heights, and people will notice and know about it. I agree with it. However, main concern is that majority of people in South India are not aware about it. And it might take a significant amount of time for us (me at least) to rise to that level! In the meantime, "prachaar" of magazine should not stop. We sud not sit idle waiting for that "particular time". A breakthrough has to be made in these areas, where Gurudev's name is completely unknown. Those people sud also benefit from this Divine elixier. Placing some ads in major dailies will at least direct someone's attention towards the magazine. Our only job is to direct people's attention towards mtyv and to make them aware of it. Gurudev will take care of the rest. Did I miss any major South India newspaper there? Another pro-active approach will be to contact the major booksellers in South India and put mtyv magazine for sale there. btw : Vivekji, Thanks for your vote of confidence. It is good to know that u r in advertising. Maybe we can discuss & evolve a marketing strategy with yr help. Thanks Jai Gurudev , Anurag Goel <anurag@s...> wrote: > > Arvind i don't know if Guruji will like to go for this way of advertising > Have u taken permission from him in this regard. I agree with Anurag regarding Guruji's views about advertising. Spirituality is a delicate matter and must be promoted carefully. Our legacy is not for everyone. > Another pro-active approach will be to contact the major > booksellers in South India and put mtyv magazine for sale there. I am not sure about South India, but here, in Chhattisgarh, MTYV is very popular. I've also seen it in bookstores in many other cities. I am not against your idea (in fact, I liked it), but we must proceed with caution. As Anu mentioned, we have 6-7 active members. We also need to increase this number. Have a nice day. Guest guest
Dear Arvind n Ashish i too am not against advertising. After all these years i felt that if one is at some stage on spiritual stage its then that people listen to him n they are also able to feel his words. Its very hard to convince people. They ask for proofs. one thing can be done the Book Shops can be encouraged to keep books written by Pujya Gurudev. Once i thought of distributing the list of books written by Pujya Gurudev to different book shops here in bangalore but somehow didn't implement it to the last. Earlier i had been on some discussion lists. After i had stayed there for long i posted a mail about Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan Magazine. Few people responded to it. Yeah language barrier is the one in approaching people in south i think it would be lessened to a great deal by publishing of English Magazine. Guest guest
JAI GURUDEV Dear Anurag... > Its very hard to convince people. They ask for proofs. Yeah! People are unaware, uninformed and misguided by TV and movies. They want miracles. They want everything for free, without doing anything. > Earlier i had been on some discussion lists. Maybe, we should also try to spread awareness about the realities of tantra. We may tell people that by following proper procedures with devotion they can get success in any sadhana without growing a mile long beard and quarter mile long mustache. Have a nice day. Guest guest
- dear arvind, let me make 2 separate statements 1) personally i am on side of anurag + ashish. and may not wish to at this stage (for 1000 personal reasons) participate openly in any prachar. 2) but, if you believe in something you should make all attempts to pursue it. So do your homework. the options are a) placing an ad in any/all newspapers. adv) reach a very wide and large audience. But i would suggest a nice clear advertisement in 1 newspaper to start instead of 5 small ones in all. it should contain 1) CONTACT ADDRESS for subscription 2) 1 lines on SOME material dikshas. 3) a photo of Gurudev disadv) expensive, and besides do take clearly worded permission before you go ahead. But i am sure you will do so. b) posters on book shops etc adv) less expensive disadv) you need active participation from local members for that. Give each say 20 posters and ask them to put them on separate bookshops in their areas. 3) cable tv I WOULD NOT RESORT TO IT. PEOPLE USUALLY fast FORWARD S. and somehow the whole idea sounds a bit well, lets use a mild word -strange. 4) but is there not anyway you can use an already existing medium web (a very informative and complete site )? the only thing i can think of is forward it to friends you think can benefit or will be interested. but remember 1 thing. keep your prachar at a level which is impersonal and directed to the masses. if we force ourselves into people's mail box they are only going to be irritated. us se tumhari aur GURUji dono ki garima kam hoti hai. arvind, may I make a suggestion. you say people do not understand the value of something given free. i will talk of the other extreme. i have seen standing next to guptaji, many people open their wallets count 1700, and go helplessly because he did not have the extra 400. i remember seeing a person ask for Guru Diksha 540 for in person, 330 for photo. so right there standing at Guruji's feat he had to opt for taking Guru Diksha by photo. not everyone wins money in lottery. some can do with help from richer Gurubhais. i stand by what i said to this person having 1700. Take simple Guru Diksha, Start performing the required mantra jap. and then, start a kraya poorti sankalp anusthan for your problem. it may take 2 months, or 3 but do not give it up. aap ka kaam ho jayega. So why do you not think of arranging to lend money for simple Guru Diksha to say even 20 people? No interest. No time limit. if the money comes back good. It is good for the self esteem of the receiver to return it, recycle it for someone else. if it does not. Good. Your money goes to Guru seva. try to allot some money every year for this purpose. anyway, it has been great talking to all of you and making friends with like minded people. i will take a break from here for a few months (1000 personal reasons). and will get back again. basically, i feel a great need to first implement and then advise. ashish, if there is an announcement of auspicious moments meanwhile, please forward it to my other email id. best wishes jai Gurudev anu
Guest guest
Hi Anu! There is a play behind all this. Its not the money rather their devotion rather that comes out through it. Once i was at gurudham there was one person who seemed to be going through tough time. Pujya Gurudev advised him to take Diksha for Lakshmi. He didn't had money. His condition was very bad indeed. i told him take Guru Diksha n do 1.25 lakh mantra japa job will be done. But the guy was reluctant to do that. He said who is going to such a long thing. He said to me u get plenty of money from ur parents. I told him i don't take even a single penny from my parents rather i accumulate the money out of my scholarship. I used to drink Tea rarely in order to save money. Although that guy was going through extremely bad condition but he didn't mind spending amount on Guthka n other such things. If that guy really wanted he could have made it. At times i was fortunate to see Guruji giving Diksha free to ppl or at a lesser amt. too. Its a totally personal between Guruji n disciple. Collecting money for Diksha is in itself a spiritual exercise. One learns a lot in it. ( I remember there was one guru brother who hardly had some 200 Rs or even less with nothin else with him. This person out of devotion some how went to Haridwar brought Ganga Jal from Haridwar n washed the feet of Pujya Guurdev with it. If he would have had he would have never done that. What devotion he had. I was just spell bound.) At times i too wanted a Diksha but returned frustated coz didn't had enough money. May be i wasn't ripened enough to get the Dikhsa. I don't know whether alloting a money in this manner is good or not. Because collecting money for Dikshaa is a work which the disciple himself has to do. Let them ask for the money when in need then if its the wish of teh divine some Guru Brother might help him/her. I remember i took a diksha by borrowing some money from one of the Guru Brothers. Just my thoughts. > arvind, > may I make a suggestion. > you say people do not understand the value of something given free. i > will talk of the other extreme. i have seen standing next to guptaji, > many people open their wallets count 1700, and go helplessly because > he did not have the extra 400. i remember seeing a person ask for Guru > Diksha 540 for in person, 330 for photo. so right there standing at > Guruji's feat he had to opt for taking Guru Diksha by photo. not > everyone wins money in lottery. some can do with help from > richer Gurubhais. i stand by what i said to this person having 1700. > Take simple Guru Diksha, Start performing the required mantra jap. and > then, start a kraya poorti sankalp anusthan for your problem. it may > take 2 months, or 3 but do not give it up. aap ka kaam ho jayega. > > So why do you not think of arranging to lend money for simple Guru > Diksha to say even 20 people? Guest guest
-- anurag, i myself have received a kavach when i did not have money for it, and two dikshas for money of one when i went the first time. Guruji had told me jab ho- tab ded dena. i was then surprised. How can He know I will repay. I was very new then, and very skeptical. And have also been on both sides of the fence. And understand the whole play perfectly today. Disciples who have money believe that they can buy a son. I heard such thoughts-- they give guarantee. My task should be done. I am very far from a true disciple. But was taken aback by such trade like thoughts. These were my first doubts: why is money involved? And the only thing that kept me was that i expressed what i wanted to who i wanted to. And poorer ones preoccupy their mind with trying to arrange for money. They believe that the crux of the solution of their problem is arranging for the money for Diksha. As you put it who wants to put in effort in anusthan + self control? i heard more thoughts - there are 2 ways of doing things either have money for diksha, or sit in jap for hours on. Atleast to me today with money in my purse, this is far from truth. More than money, and more than hours, the true essence is devotion, and faith. Ofcourse if you sit for hours you are making a conscious effort to do away with all kinds of shortcomings, and gain spiritually. If you have it good. If you do not your progress/success will be much slower. No money, and lots of money are both sides of the same coin. That is why if you notice i mentioned for GURU DIKSHA, and not the umpteen other Dikshas. Yes, of course, Guruji's will is involved. You are giving money and a very limited amount to someone willing to take responsiblity but you do not know who would benefit from it. and who would not. Ultimately, it is Guruji's will. anyway, my thoughts. best wishes jai GURUDEV anu
Guest guest
Dear Guru Bhais Jaya Guru Dev Re: revolving fund for Guru Diksha for people who can not afford it........ If Pujya Guru Dev wanted to have Sishyas to pay for the Diksha , I believe He had a very good reason and I would not support any task going against his will. Yes if we can come up with something that we can contribute it should be through Guru Dham. Spiritually we owe a lot to Bandaniya Mata ji she may have something in her mind that we can contribute. We know she have been doing many charity through umpteen projects. Would not this be a good idea to support..... Jaya Guru Dev Bishnu Global Medicine Pvt. Ltd., 3/555 Harihar Bhavan P. O.
