Guest guest
JAI GURUDEV Hello all... After posting my previous message about improving Siddhashram.Org, I gave this matter another thought. Guruji is our Guru, he knows what we don't, he can see what we can't. Nand Kishore Guruji personally takes care of Siddhashram.Org and there must be a reason behind it simple looks. If it will ever need change, Guruji will know and take care of it or he would ask us to do so. Being over-enthusiastic, I commented on Siddhashram.Org without even thinking about anything. Maybe I had started considering myself the best web designer who can comment on anything, while I am not. But now, I truly regret my act. I have no right to comment on someone's work, especially that of Gurudham. Kindly disregard my previous post and forgive me for my ignorance. Thanks and have a great day. AFter reading your first mail, I was thinking of suggesting that we should not comment on Siddhashram site. That site is looked after by Nand Kishore Guruji and he is more capable from all of us. I am happy that you have realised this. But one thing I would like to suggest u that please don't take ur decisions in hurry. Always think throughly before commenting on anything. But we all do mistakes, so don't worry. Guruji will forgive all of us. > Maybe I had started considering myself the > best web designer who can comment on anything, while I am not. Ofcourse you are a good web designer and I wish you best of luck. > But now, I truly regret my act. I have no right to comment on > someone's work, especially that of Gurudham. Kindly disregard my > previous post and forgive me for my ignorance. If anyway we find anything to be improved in the siddhashram site, we can always send our humble request to Gurudham. They always welcome improvements. But let us keep ourself a good disciple of our beloved Guruji. Jai Gurudev Charanjit
Guest guest
Jai Gurudev Gee. I don't know. But I do feel that it is still a good idea to collect constructive suggestions. I understand that as a shishya, one should never even think about criticising or passing judgement on Gurudev or Gurudham. Such a thought is worse than blasphemy. However, and however, what i feel is that everyone might have some wish list, some constructive suggestions on improving appeal etc. or to have new features - An example cud be to have more photographs of Gurudev in the photo album. or one might want to suggest more additions to faq section. Or, one might have some comment on the current color combination. i dont think that this is criticism. This is a wish list. We have seen so many internet sites, and we might have found something " cool " there, which we might also want to have on our site!! There are literally hundreds of browsers there, and all features do not work in the same way in all browsers. Similarly, everyone has different screen resolution. If someone is facing some sort of problem eg. getting error message on some page, or something not working properly (eg. difficult_to_read_text, lines_too_long, text_overflowing_out_of_screen etc.) , then i think that one sud point that out. As this will only lead to an improvement in the site. Remember that most of the visitors on the website dont know anything about Tantra or Gurudev, and some feature might not be appealing to them. Is the website download too slow? does the color combination look appealing? are u able to read all text properly? have u tried to open website on MAC or other machines? how does it work in lynx? or opera? All Browsers and machine combinations are not compatible with each other. I dont think that it is humanly possible to test a website against all browsers and machine combinations. However, everyone sud be able to access it properly. So, i think that it is a good idea to collect such a wish list. We had run this exercise in the past, and the consolidated comments tilldate are- a. More photographs of Gurudev b. Need to upload details of all back issues (categorised by yearwise/sadhna wise - birendraji) c. More audio & video. put mantras in .wav format. put pravachanas/stotras in mp3 format. (from Birendraji + amitji) d. books in pdfs/zip format (from Birendraji+ charanjitji. possible copyright/trademark issue) e. Better categorisation of Sadhanas on Sadhana page (from Birendraji & Charanjitji) (proposing two categories, one for purpose (wealth/intelligence etc.) and another for deity) f. Addition of details on Anusthaan and Havan in Sadhana page g. FAQ updates. graphical content in FAQ ( eg. pictures) add entries not already on FAQ eg. ideal time to perform Sadhana, best time to get up (from many) h. Search Engine Improvements. viz. searching on word eg. traatak (from charanjitji) i. Speed Improvement. (need to reduce image sizes) j. Addition of "Anusthaan" & "Hawan details" in Sadhana section k. strategy for linking to portals (from Birendraji. Actual howto is to be decided.) l. glossary in printable format (from birendraji) m. more experience articles & increase in archived material (from birendraji) o. Photographs + more details of Sadhana camp (from charanjitji) p. Desist from showing "under construction" (from charanjitji) q. Coordination with Gurudham (www.siddhashram.org) (from birendraji) r. Video content & audio clips (from Amitji) s. sample magazine (from Amitji) I think that some of them have been implemented, eg. many new photos have been added in photo album. Searching on word "anusthaan" actually gave a listing of a FAQ entry containing some details on anusthaan. But can people give specific comments. Eg. just saying that give more details about Sadhana Camp isnt enough. Some info is already available in FAQ and elsewhere. What type of details do u want to see? So, can please, please people put on their thinking cap and give their wish list to improve. After all, all of us want this to be the BEST SITE in the world isn't it. Guest guest
Dear Bandhu's, I hope to join and take diksha from Guru, as a potential brother, I wish to agree what Arvindji says, you have nice website, but it requires bit of mordernasisation and certainly new colour scheme with no background wall paper. It also will benifit with wave sound of mantra pronounsations etc. I hope you will take my comments as constructive. best regards Nilesh Ravel --- arvind_sharma wrote: __________ Get your free @.co.uk address at http://mail..co.uk or your free @.ie address at http://mail..ie
