--dear amit,

i must admit i spent considerable amount of time on this confusion.

apparently, it is also pronounced as gan by some people. logic

being similar ti gan -ga (in Ganga).

But, for one if you listen to audios of ganesh mantras you will hear

gam clearly in GURUJi's pronounciation. i have confirmed that this

time i was there, so my advice is do--

Aum gam ganpataye namah....

AS FAR AS I KNOW THE PRONUNCIATION AS "GAM" MAKES THE MANTRA MANTROCT AND THE

PRONUNCIATION AS "GANG" MAKES IT TANTROCT.

FOR E.G. THE MANTRA "OM GAM GANAPATAYE NAMAH" IF PRONOUNCED AS "GANG " WILL MAKE

IT TANTROCT. AND MANTRAS WHICH ARE BASICALLY TANTROCT BY NATURE ARE PRONOUNCED

ALWAYS AS "GANG". FOR E.G. " OM GANG HAQSTI PISHACHI LIKHE SWAHA"

WITH LOVE & REGARDS,

ANUPAM
