Guest guest
Jai Gurudev, There are various ways to meditate. Many Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan magazine issues contain articles on meditation & how-to-meditate. In fact there was a article some months ago about Kriya Yog.. You can also get details from Gurudham. I aint qualified to tell anyone about how-to-meditate, and am myself a begineer. I can only suggest the following- Early morning is best time for this.. After taking bath, and dressing yourself in loose clothes, perform Pranaayam for 5-10 minutes(or wahatever your capacity is). After that perform Bhastrika praanayam ( rapid breath in & out of air through nose without any break) for some minutes. In Bhrastrika, you sud breath in and out very fast and loudly. It is pretty strenous, and the entire body becomes red in this. After Bhastrika pranayaam, sit down in sukhasan or padmasan in front of pujya Gurudev's photo, and chant either Guru Mantra or Chetna Mantra or "Soham". In "soham", one takes in air, and maintains it inside body for maximum posible time during "Soha" and vents it out slowly during "am". Many meditation mantras & techniques are available in various issues. It might be better if u perform Traatak (stare unblinkingly) on Gurudev's photo for some time during Mantra chanting. I think the audio cassette "Samadhi Key Saat Dwaar" (available in english as Seven Stages of Samadhi) also has details on meditation and prannayam. U may obtain this cassette from Gurudham. There are many types of Prannayam. Read this once in an old magazine- In another type of prannayam, one closes both ears using thumb. Then one takes in air, maintains it inside body for as much time as possible, and then vents it out slowly. The eyes remain closed all the time (if i remember correctly!). It is done at midnight. After some days, one hears various "Naads" (sounds). I guess that u sud go physically to Gurudham (if u can) and learn about various pranayaams, asanas etc. there from Senior Gurubhais. It is essential to learn the correct technique practically. u can also learn about yogic exercises like neti, dhoti etc. also there. These exercises help in cleaning the body and aid in meditation. i am sorry about bad-formatting in my previous mail. it was a hasty cut&paste operation! >> Charanjitji -> about shivir organisation Mohanji is a senior Shivir organiser and is veteran of many shivirs. He also sud be able to guide u in shivir organisation.
