Guest guest
Jai Gurudev, Dear all, Jan 12 (1863-1902) is the birthday of Swami Vivekanada... His teachings and writing were mainly instrumental in inspiring and guiding , in those early days of my entry into spiritualism... until i found Bade Gurudev(Dr Narain Dutt Shrimaliji) As a rememberance Iam posting a poem writtten by him... and which i like personally and which i feel if understood would help lead to find a sadGuru or understand him if one has any... i personally believe this is the type of yearning that will lead to Lord in form of sadGuru or if you want to become vivekananda This is the SHARANAGATI stage in a way..., the other instance of sharanagati comes after you understand your SadGuru by his grace (if you have already one ) this is what i believe and experienced in my life... This message is for people like vijay bhaskar and all those who are looking for a satGuru Things need not be 100% this but should be in this direction... Quest for God (This was part of the letter written by Swamiji on Sep. 4, 1893 to Prof. J.H. Wright of Boston who introduced Swami Vivekananda in the Parliament of Rligions.) O'ver hill and dale and mountain range, In temple, church, and mosque, In Vedas, Bible, Al Koran I had searched for Thee in vain. Like a child in the wildest forest lost I have cried and cried alone, "Where art Thou gone, my God, my love? The echo answered, "gone." And days and nights and years then passed A fire was in the brain, I knew not when day changed in night The heart seemed rent in twain. I laid me down on Ganges's shore, Exposed to sun and rain; With burning tears I laid the dust And wailed with waters' roar. I called on all the holy names Of every clime and creed. "Show me the way, in mercy, ye Great ones who have reached the goal." Years then passed in bitter cry, Eacch moment seemed an age, Till one day midst my cries and groans Some one seemed calling me. A gentle soft and soothing voice That said 'my son' 'my son', That seemed to thrill in unison With all the chords of my soul. I stood on my feet and tried to find The place the voice came from; I searched and searched and turned to see Round me, before, behind, Again, again it seemed to speak The voice divine to me. In rapture all my soul was hushed, Entranced, enthralled in bliss. A flash illumined all my soul; The heart of my heart opened wide. O joy, O bliss, what do I find! My love, my love you are here And you are here, my love, my all! And I was searching thee - >From all eternity you were there Enthroned in majesty! >From that day forth, wherever I roam, I feel Him standing by O'ver hill and dale, high mount and vale, Far far away and high. The moon's soft light, the stars so bright, The glorious orb of day, He shines in them; His beauty - might - Reflected lights are they. The majestic morn, the melting eve, Teh boundless billowing sea, In nature's beauty, songs of birds, I see through them - it is He. When dire calamity seizes me, The heart seems weak and faint, All natures seems to crush me down, With laws that never bend. Meseems I hear Thee whispering sweet My love, "I am near", "I am near". My heart gets strong. With thee, my love, A thousand deaths no fear. Thou speakest in the mother's lay Thous shuts the babies eye, When innocent children laugh and play, I see Thee standing by. When holy friendship shakes the hand, He stands between them too; He pours the nectar in mother's kiss And the baby's sweet "mama". Thou were my God with prophets old, All creeds do come from Thee, The Vedas, Bible, and Koran bold Sing Thee in Harmony. "Thou art," Thou art" the Soul of souls In the rushing stream of life. "Om tat sat om." Thou art my God, My love, I am thine, I am thine. May all of you understand a SatGuru in REAL terms,if you have already one and if you dont may you start yearning in this direction HUMBLY, INNOCENTLY,DESPERATELY,GENTLY,UNDEMANDINGLY,SUPPLIANTLY..... love Jai Gurudev
Guest guest
"You cannot believe in GOD until you believe in yourself." "Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers and let them go their own way". " When we really begin to live in the world, then we understand what is meant by brotherhood or mankind, and not before." 'FEEL like Christ and you will be a Christ; feel like Buddha and you will be a Buddha. It is feeling that is the life, the strength, the vitality, without which no amount of intellectual activity can reach God.' 'THE will is not free- it is a phenomenon bound by cause and effect -but there is something behind the will which is free.' Each soul is potentially divine . The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature , external and internal. Do this either by work , or worship or psychic control or philosophy - by one or more or all of these and be free. This is the whole of religion. Doctrines or dogmas, or rituals or books, or temples or forms, are but secondary detail". Note: he is referring karma, bhakti, raj and gyaan yog here. 'AS the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee. 'THROUGH prayer, the love of God grows and assumes a form which is called supreme devotion. Forms vanish, rituals fly away, books are superseded, images, temples, churches, religions and sects, countries and nationalities - all these little limitations and bondages fall off by their own nature from him who knows this love of God.' TO worship God even for the sake of salvation or any other reward is equally degenerate. Love knows no reward. Give your love unto to God, but do not ask anything in return even from Him through pray.' ' A man may be the greatest philosopher in the world but a child in RELIGION. When a man has developed a high state of spirituality he can understand that the kingdom of heaven is within him.' Practise meditation sincerely and you will understand His infinite grace. God wants sincerity, truthfulness and love. Outward verbal effusions do not touch Him. Many are known to do great things under the stress of some strong emotion. But a man's true nature is known from the manner in which he does his insignificant daily task. I tell you one thing-if you want peace, do not find fault with others. Rather see your own faults. Learn to make the world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; the whole world is your own." "God is one's very own. It is the eternal relationship. He is everyone's own. One realizes him in proportion to the intensity of one's feelings for him." "Avoid everyone, however great or good he may be, who asks you to believe blindly. It is healthier for the individual or race to remain wicked than to be made apparently good by such morbid, extraneous control - beware of everything that takes away your freedom." In criticising another, we always foolishly take one especially brilliant point as the whole of our life and compare that with the dark ones in the life of another. Thus we make mistakes in judging individuals. 'THE Lord is great! - He will not allow me to become a hypocrite. Now let what is in come out....' 'GOD of truth, be Thou alone my guide..' I do not have a single book by him. Nor have I ever read any of his books. You know, when my mother was pregnant with me, she was reading Vivekananda. At least in my life I never saw her read them again. As a young teenager I had picked the two books we had at home, and read a few pages here and there I cannot read philosophy from one end to other. I find it boring frankly. I never met swami nikhileshwarand. My acceptance of him as a guru is far from complete. But one thing is 100% sure. Even if I this submission happens, it will be only to him and never to any other human being claiming to be close to him. I start on this condition. if I succeed in sadhnas, so be it. If I fail, so be it. We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far. Just like you people weigh right or wrong by his definitions, I used to do the same for Vivekananda as a kid. But I do not do that any more for anybody. He was, and always will be my first guru. Every word that comes out of my mouth that carries weight has him as origin and comes from him.. Everything that becomes confused is because my ego comes in. this the whole truth. "Knowledge means freedom from the errors which ignorance leads to...Men are not bold enough to speak out broad truths, for fear of losing the respect of the people...This attempt at compromise proceeds from arrant downright cowardice. Be bold! My children should be brave, above all. Not the least compromise on any account. Preach the highest truths broadcast. Do not fear losing your respect or causing unhappy friction. Rest assured that if you serve truth in spite of temptations to forsake it, you will attain to a heavenly strength in the face of which men will quail to speak before you things which you do not believe to be true." "Practice is absolutely necessary. You may sit and listen to me by the hour everyday, but if you do not practice, you will not get one step further. Never mind the failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life-these failures. What would life be without them? It would not be worth having if it were not for struggles. Where would be the poetry of life? Never mind the struggles, the mistakes. To succeed you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. "I will drink the ocean," says the persevering soul; "at my will mountains will crumble up." Have that sort of energy, that sort of will; work hard, and you will reach the goal. It is the fear that is the great cause of misery in the world. It is fear that is the greatest of all superstitions. It is fear that is the cause of our woes, and it is fearlessness that brings heaven even in a moment... Therefore, Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached." ..."It is the coward and the fool who says, 'This is fate' " - so says the Sanskrit proverb. But it is the strong man who stands up and says, "I will make my fate"...... You will find that astrology and all these mystical things are generally signs of a weak mind; therefore as soon as they are becoming prominent n our minds, we should see a physician, take good food and rest.... They may have a little influence; but it is our duty to ignore them rather hearken to them and make ourselves nervous.... anything that brings spiritual, mental, or physical weakness, touch it not with the toes of your feet.... A spring of infinite power is coiled up and is inside the little body, and that spring is spreading itself. And as it goes on spreading, body after body is found insufficient; it throws them off and takes higher bodies.... The highest things are under your feet, because you are Divine Stars; all these things are under your feet. ou can swallow the stars by the handful if you want; such is your real nature. Be strong, get beyond all superstitions, and be free." thank you very very much , birendraji. i just searched them on the web. thanks again, i needed it all so badly good wishes, anu
Guest guest
- this for amit and me Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life. Think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other ideas alone. This is the way to success. If we really want to be blessed and make others blessed, we must go deeper. …. Take one thing up and do it, and see the end of it, and before you have seen the end, do not give up. This is the way to success. This is how spiritual giants are produced. Others are mere talking machines. Those who only take a nibble here and a nibble there will never attain anything. Those are the unpersevering. They hear a talk, think it very nice, go home and forget all about it. To succeed you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. "I will drink the ocean," says the persevering soul; "at my will mountains will crumble up." Have that sort of energy, that sort of will; work hard, and you will reach the goal. the actual para of which the famous---arise awake ans stop not till goal is reached, i never found anywhere. though the web was filled with this sentence. and i do not remember the whole of it. good wishes, anu
Guest guest
---jai gurudev found some more... Religion is not in books, nor in theories, nor in dogmas, nor in talking, not even in reasoning. It is being and becoming To obstruct thoughts which are inimical to Yoga, contrary thoughts should be brought. That is the way to practise the virtues that have been stated. For instance, when a big wave of anger has come into the mind, how are we to control that? Just by raising an opposing wave. Think of love. Sometimes a mother is very angry with her husband, and while in that state, the baby comes in, and she kisses the baby; the old wave dies out and a new wave arises, love for the child. That suppresses the other one. Love is opposite to anger. Similarly, when the idea of stealing comes, non-stealing should be thought of; when the idea of receiving gifts comes, replace it by a contrary thought. The obstructions to Yoga are killing, falsehood, etc., whether committed, caused, or approved; either through avarice, or anger, or ignorance; whether slight, middling, or great; and they result in infinite ignorance and misery. This is (the method of) thinking the contrary. If I tell a lie, or cause another to tell one, or approve of another doing so, it is equally sinful. If it is a very mild lie, still it is a lie. Every vicious thought will rebound, every thought of hatred which you may have thought, in a cave even, is stored up, and will one day come back to you with tremendous power in the form of some misery here. If you project hatred and jealousy, they will rebound on you with compound interest. No power can avert them; when once you have put them in motion, you will have to bear them. Remembering this will prevent you from doing wicked things. Let nothing daunt you. Who on earth has the power to snub us so long as the Lord favors us? Even if you are at your last breath, be not afraid. Work on with the intrepidity of a lion but at the same time with the tenderness of a flower. By repetition of the Mantra comes the realisation of the intended deity. The higher the beings that you want to get the harder is the practice. "Let your brother work out his own destiny, even mentally do not interfere." My life is more precious than spending it in getting the admiration of the world. Have faith, in yourselves, great convictions are the mothers of great deeds. Ever steeped in the darkness of ignorance, yet considering themselves wise and learned, the fools go round and round, staggering to and fro like the blind led by the blind (Katha Upanishad 1, ii.5)

If I fail, > so be it. Dont worry he will take care of you, When you want a sadguru just go for him why less than him/ or anyone close to him, identify all the attribtes of satguru as and when you can and, apply on all the personalities that come in ur life in that position and surrender to him that u find most worth. My personal experience is that finding sadGuru is intself a great sadhana where you have to get to the state as described in the poem (quest of God), you have to yearn for him with one goal and all focus that he come to you whereever he is, and not leave u. atleast for vivekananda it worked , i too followed the similar root it worked for me too , though i was not as great as vivekananda, though iam no where near him, but still God is our own he has to come... i too am trying too learn one lesson that however good people may appear, you with ur little brain cant judge anyone correctly, before you know that things are wrong , you would have lost faith, money and put ur self in great confusion, so this thing also happened to swami vivekananda, but he was persistent with his goal , he asked every saint he came across "CAN YOU SHOW ME THE LORD" only ramakrishna paramhamsa could satisfy him. i better understand your position now. Defenitely his grace only , or our sincere and humble effort only can save us. > thank you very very much , birendraji. i just searched them on the > web. thanks again, i needed it all so badly > good wishes, iam happy that you are rediscovering, your ownself, your own vivekanda Good luck and Good wishes love Jai Gurudev

Guest guest
One of the main reasons of Pujya Gurudev to grihast life was to establish the divinity again. After many years he realised that its not happening. People rise but they fall again. He said that there is so much venom in todays world that even 50 Shree Krishna will be less to save this world. Then he said that now we will have to teach the new one to be born in the womb itself. Only these young ones will be able to save this world. And Pujya Gurudev have blessed some of the young one who have some of the kalas of different gods and they are growing and their characteristics are similar to those of respective gods. Gurudev has given a very very precious sadhana in two cassettes Grihasth Balak 1 and Grihasth Balak 2. Its for the first time after 3000 yrs that gurudev revived these divine mantras. The whole universe and the all the knowledge that prevails in whatvever is there ( in this brahmaand and even beyond that ) is compressed in to these mantras. Its one fortune to be able to listen to these mantras. I heard to these mantras and its very true that these are so great that one will find it mind boggling to comprehend what all can these mantras make a child to be. And these mantras are helpful to everyone. A child will become as great as one can be. Its better to the teach child in womb then to teach that child the same thing in 25 yrs. Gurudev has said that animals too give birth giving birth is not a great event. Mother doesn't become great just by giving birth. She will become great when she gives a birth to a child who is capable enough to change the world who has energy and rightiousness to fight for good. One son of this calibre is more better than 1000 1000 sons. Someone who will be able to hold the torch to show the path to millions. Sri ramakrishna paramhansa has said follow whatever path follow whatver practice in the end its your kundalini that has to get awakened. And it can get awakened by different ways. And so has been bit of my experience when i sing bhajans, say prayers chant mantras they resonate in me. After realising the strength the liveliness in spirituality why didn't you teach me all these things since i was a child i would have lived like man rather than living like a fool who has been a mere puppet to this world and who didn't knew what his true potential is. Now when i look back at all the knowledge all the sciences i know where i stand. its true that someone has said "ignorance is the biggest enemy and to choose to remain ignorant is even more serious". >as for intiation/kundalini jagran of an unborn child, i would never >ever go for it ever. whoever be my guru, my child should be free to >choose to grow up to be an atheist if he chooses. i have never/ and >will never force my family too to take intitiation from someone i >accept as guru. these things are a matter of individual choice. >good wishes >jaigurudev >anu > > "THIS E-MAIL MESSAGE ALONG WITH ANY ATTACHMENTS IS INTENDED ONLY FOR THE ADDRESSEE and may contain confidential and privileged information. Guest guest
--- > anurag,, guess what??? i just found your home page. did not know you are from iisc. also found the link to guruji's books cute home page. also you know what i was also born in rohtak -and never went there again.... so i consider myself a jaatni, and i have a very soft corner for all haryanvi people, they are so cute. one of my closest friends is also a haryanvi--but she is big govt officer now. i never seen the kind of independence women have there given anywhere else. on my friend's marraige i met a very old aunt of hers, casually smoking the beeri, she came to me ai, kis ki chori hai re tu-- me no less--apni maa ki. as for unborn child, bhaiya it is not an independent decision, now that you have enlightened me, i will send my husband for a free consultation to you. wishes jaigurudev anu but i love speaking haryanvi, i love all the policemen and bus conductors in delhi. they are my friends. when i came to europe, a european friend commented all indian men are short....( i am 5'5") of course they are not, i told him. the ones who are educated are from south, and east- they are short. they are intelligent educated etc etc the ones who are tall and handsome, they become bus conductors..... Well, no Jaat. > of course you are not. maharshtrian people are given special grace marks by me. you know outside, the mahalaxmi temple in bombay, i saw such pretty women well dressed. red lipstick and all ..since men are usually blood relatives of women, i think we can make an exception. but then i will vanish, but before i vanish, and get beaten up, i will quote the great zeenat aman among indian women 8 out of 10 are beautiful, among indian men 8 out of 10 are not so beautiful. amit, kindly note that this applies to the whole sub continent, so please do not feel left out.... ok i vanish.... > Ashish... Yes, I lie almost daily and I have no choice. Ashish...
