Guest guest Posted January 19, 2002 Report Share Posted January 19, 2002 Adi Sankara in his Vivekachudamani(crest jewel of discrimination) describes how knowledge can dawn in a student- 25% comes from his own innate ability 25% comes from his attunement with his teacher 25% comes from discussions with his fellow classmates(satsangha) 25% comes from Grace of teacher/God The above is based on my faint recollection from the Vivekachudamani. But the point this work gives is that only 25% comes from the teacher meaning that even though the teacher is there, one would still have to work hard to get there.
